Gscan2pdf works great with cyrillic/latin mixed with pictures on Hardy Herron

cyrillic, hardy herron, gscan2pdf, Ubuntu ...

I installed first croatian, then migrate to serbian (gscan2pdf was already installed). Also have USA keyboard layout as option. Using HP PSC 1510 successfully.
Here is my first pdf made with gscan2pdf.
