The Cult de Mac to Your Dell?

Ok… call me weird, stupid whatever, but this is what I seriously think is going to happen. Think about it for a minute; it really does make sense for Apple.
I think that Apple is going to “officially” release Mac OS X Tiger for your average x86 computer. You may be asking, “Why would they do anything like that?” but think about it… It’s already been done, Vista won’t be out for a LONG time, and a release in October or November would make huge profits for Apple. Even if it wouldn’t be for Vista not coming out till second quarter 2007, and it really does make sense to release it soon for your Dell. It has been done before, I’ve seen it, and it rocks!! Sure, it is illegal, but that has stopped how many people? I don’t know of anyone that didn’t install it because its illegal but there may be.
So will it happen? I can certainly see it happen. And when it does, will I make the switch? I doubt it. I am very happy with the current situation of Linux, but I cannot reccomend Linux to a “normal” person without feeling guilty. Afterall, who wants to type
rnisly@linuxgoober~>tar -xvzzf programs/program.tar.gz && cd program && ./configure && make && sudo make installjust to install an application. Sure package managers like Synaptic help, but it isn’t exactly non-geek friendly mainly because it is different, but I do plan on seeing improvements, but I don’t think there will ever be a time when *nix computer take up the majority of Desktop computers. I can see that happen to Apple’s Mac OS X line if they make the switch to providing for OEMs like Dell, HP, etc.
