Media Shapes The Mentality - day in day out, switch on the TV, surf upto your favourite blockbuster style, high sensationalistic "breaking news" TV channel. Most likely a news article would make your coffee cease to slide down the oesophagus. Not actually by the scale of the event, but the way it is presented. And the plethora of useless intricate details churned out is mind numbing.

But do we ever question their authenticity? Or do these reporters and their studio crew took an oath on a holy book to speak the truth as truth can be? why have we given them the status of "god's voice" ?

They tend to mould our view rather than present news, and with high degree of our emotions somehow or the other attached to the event covered blind us to join their karaoke.

To dig in deeper, for this very topic i recommend the book - "Media Control" by Noam Chomsky.
The author throws light on how the masses are like a "Bewildered Herd" and spectators, and how democracy has been reduced to "i want 'you' to be my leader". And how opinions are manufactured in our minds through the media.
This book is a must read !!

I thank Noam Chomsky for bringing out this invaluable book to let us see the other perspective, the other side of the story and not just to view the world events from behind the shoulders of our governments and its media.
