Swam 36 laps in 45:00 (my time was slowed down because I had lots of talk breaks)
It was just a regular day, no big news. Doing the 30-day shred almost everyday is really making my knees hurt during my attempts at running. So, I have decided to do it on my run days - after the run. That way, my knees have almost 2 days to recover between run and shred sessions. I think they will eventually build up the muscle necessary, but right now it is painful.
Plans for today: bike for 30:00, walk/run 2.0 miles using couch to 2k program (week2, day 2), and do the shred after run.
I am committed to finishing the 30-day shred and I am seeing good results. When it is over, I think I will get the Jillian Michaels Wii training program. It will make it a little more interactive and also chart my progress. Planning that purchase also gives my an inducement to finish up the shred.

Sometimes life just gets in the way. Mondays are usually very busy, because TB has boy scouts and we fit the training around dropping him off and picking him up. During the day yesterday, our fridge went out. I won't go into detail, but that creates a pretty big mess. So, we dropped TB off, ran to the appliance store, and ran back to get him. That cut off my usual training time. I had to walk/run at 8:00 and clean up the fridge mess after that. Today, I have to meet the appliance delivery people at home during lunch. I'm sure they do not want to see me do the 30-day shred - but they may get to. KB is supposed to have practice tonight, but it looks like rain, again. So, this will be a day that I pray for rain!
Sometimes life just gets in the way - but, life is so, so sweet.

It's not as bad as it looks! I did really well all day, but we stopped at Dairy Queen. I should have looked it up first, but I really wanted it. Did you know that a large dipped cone has 660 calories and 30 grams of fat! If you take that off, my total would have only been 1350/31.2. That's not great, but it would have been pretty good. Oh well, live and learn. Next time I WILL look it up, because that cone just was not worth it.

Wow! Do you see those calorie and fat numbers? They fed us well - and the fed us often. We had a deluxe breakfast, lunch and supper. I ate as well as I could, but you can see that it was not like I normally do. We stayed busy all day and into the night, so I guess I burned it off.

I did my weekly triathlon on Friday instead of Saturday because of the trip. I had the day off from work. It was so nice to go to the gym without having to worry about kids, work, etc...
I felt really good and had a nice day. I got everything ready, picked KB and her friend up from school and headed to the church. We had fun in the van and got to the camp around 8:00.

Man, the weather has gotten nice. It is room temperature with no humidity outside. It makes running a whole lot less painful.
Due to pre-period blahs and a pulled something-or-other in my knee, I ran slowly last night and skipped my date with Jillian. As I finished up my run/walk, I felt the familiar pull of "just do the DVD" then you can say you did it. My knee responded, "I cannot do jumping jacks today". So, my mind said, "you can just skip the jumping things - and the lunging things". Then I remembered my promise: If I cannot do it with excellence, I will not do it. So, I let me my knee rest.
We had a nice evening - grocery shopping, cooking spaghetti, walking and watching football. Tonight will be a crazy night with softball practice and getting ready to travel tomorrow.
I am going with KB to a kid's church camp about 3.5 hours away. My boss gave me the whole day off, so I am going to do all kinds of things tomorrow. We will leave around 4:00, then come home on Sunday afternoon. It should be great fun! I am really excited about it.

I am so tired - and I am so tired of walking through the workout. From today on, if I cannot give it my best I am going to skip it. I keep patting myself on the back because I at least did the training. But, now it is time to step up and OWN the training.

I did not feel good. Correction: I felt terrible most of the day. I felt like I could throw up at any minute from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. It effected what I ate - all I could manage was cheese and crackers. They are very good to your stomach, but very hard on your calorie and fat count. Then, I worked out anyway and became famished! So, I ate some more. I think I will just ignore yesterday and begin again fresh today.
One celebration from yesterday was the Couch to 5k training program. The longest I have been able to run is 1:00 on/1:00 off during the last race. This week's program called for 1:30 on and 1:30 off. I was wary and had even given myself a special "out". If I could not hang, I would repeat week 1 again. But, I did it! It was not easy, especially with my desire to throw up all day. I was able to run for 1:30 and then run again after only 1:30. It brought me a lot closer to my next goal of running 1/4 mile without stopping. When I was running, that 1:30 would take me about 75% of the way around the 1/4 mile track.
The 30-day shred is very difficult and is killing my knees. This evening, I am going to buy one of those little trampolines to do the jumping jacks and jump roping on. My knees have been hurting when I run - I do not want an injury from a strength workout!
