A Dog With A Box On His Head

, ,

I leave the room for 2 minutes and come back to find this... :right:
I don't know if he thought cause it had suddenly got dark it was bed time?...
bed time standing up? Oh ok .
Cause after 15 minutes i thought hmm lets just remove the box cause otherwise he'll stand there all day ...and as soon as i did he just looked at me, wagged the tail in greeting and carried on like nothing strange had occured! What a freak!

Bizarre that this happened today though cause earlier i was thinking (dangerous i know :insane:) that since Lindsay posted some lovely videos of her animal menagerie, it would be cool if everyone posted a video of something like a pet or where they live or whatever  *hears people shouting nooo* *talks over them* so we can see things with..movement and...talking and...stuff :left:

*Gavin pictures a video of Bianca washing Tenacious B in a string bikini* "I like this idea Lucy!!"

P.S. Everytime i hear my voice i'm like...is that meee??! *puts a pillow over face*

I ♥ Sparkly Vampires And I Don't Care Who Knows!

,

So guesswhatguesswhatguesswhat.....I went to see New Moon today! :D I figured a weekday at lunch was a good time as there would be lack of giggly teenagers and less people to look at me weird cause i go to see films on my own....Yes, I like going to the cinema on my own, okay?!
Annnyway, I read a lot of critisism about New Moon from "film critics"...firstly i can't staaand critics of anything! :irked: To me they are (usually fat) people who get paid to tell people THEIR opinion....I'm sorry, why do i care what someone else thinks?!! That person does not know what i like, or what anyone else likes for that matter. Clearly they don't know what LUCY likes, cause i L  V E D the film (*GASP* Shocking...Not! - there's a little 90's joke for you)

Last year, Twilight felt a bit rushed and didn't always stick to the book (mistake! nervous). But New Moon was a gazillion times better (Thanks Chris Weitz!). It was faithful to the original story, it was smooth and unhurried, it included so much dialogue i recognised from my numerous readings of the book and the acting was just....KAAPPOOW! Awesome!! :star: :star: :star:
I don't care what you duuudes say, those three leads can ACT! I don't get teary at films. Books, sometimes cause i get really deep into them. But not usually films...untill today! The breakup scene near the beginning of New Moon...ooo....that got me...

*Breakup Scene*
Edward: "I don't want you with me..."
Bella: *anguished look* ".....you don't..want me?"
Edward: *trying to hide anguish and lie* ".....No."
Lucy: *puts hand to chest cause she's really feeling the anguish here*...what the- *puts finger to eye* moisture?

Yes, i had moistness in the eyes people! Moistness! There was a a lump in my throat for sure and i may have even shed a tear if i'd blinked a few times. Turns out i didn't need to blink but the point is, those guys are ACTORS. They provoke emotion. They had it SPOT ON. No one can blast their acting unless they've read the book and understood the heartbreak and the sorrow and the passion it entails. That must be so hard to act yet it looked so natural. A favourite thing - The 360 degree camera pan around a desolate Bella as the seasons change out the window...*does girly sigh* i could just eat it all up!

Ok ok, so i know it kinda sounds like i'm over-gushing about it here but, it really was superb. I recommend seeing it. I may even go back for more than one viewing, which is unheard of for me!! Last time i resaw a film was Titanic and that was back in 1998 when i was 13 and all my friends wanted to see it at different times and i was the only one willing to sit through 3 hours or Leonardo Dicaprio numerous times...it was something like...

1st time:  Mmm yeah that was quite good
2nd time:  Still okay
3rd time: p: Ha, i know the dialogue off by heart
4th time: :wait: 3 hours is kinda long...
5th time: :right: Is that fire exit locked?
6th time: :sst: He dies...let's get outta here
7th time:
8th time:

Friend: "Hey Lu do you fancy coming with me to see Tita-"
Me:  *runs away waving arms crazily*

P.S. Why does everyone jump on the Twilight bandwagon with crapper vampire stuff?!...don't they get that the backbone of the books and the whole realistic take, with no fangs, no exploding into dust and no sleeping in coffins stuff makes it popular and unique! I moan cause "Daybreakers" was advertised before New Moon came on. Eeeeck! :yuck: Everyone is a vampire (with golden eyes!? Come ooooooon! Sheesh talk about rip-off!!) and they are harvesting the remaining humans for blood (Blade anyone?!)...of course there is a little rebel group of humans who don't like being dinner and start revolting *rolls eyes dramatically* Oh and the main character is called...Edward! ...woooow that is sooooooooooooo original! (by the way, that was sarcasm...)

P.P.S. I now want to live in Vancouver...STUNNING! The trees, the sky, the trees! Get the spare bedroom ready Henry cause imma comin'!!
*looks up where Vancouver is*...*looks up where Henry is* ... :eyes: ... *thinks she may have to rent a car*

Do I Like Beans?

mmmmm....NO! :yuck:
(although the smiley face is deceptive)

P.S. Why does the song say beans are a musical fruit? Fruit?? Not vegetable? :right: Surely beans are a vegetable!?

Lucy's Geek Moment Of The Day : If you took all the core mass of all the atoms in every human, we would all fit into a sugarcube. mmmm good huh?!

Breaking News!

, ,

At 06:00 hours this morning Lucy was found cold and limp wristed, slumped over her laptop. The window was closed so she's not cold anymore, but unfortunatly, due to the continous deleting of friend-request notifications from her inbox, nothing could be done to save her wrist. Therefore, Lucy could not be here in person, but she did release the following statement out of her hospital window, by megaphone, to the sea of fans holding candles:

"Wow. Oh My Gosh. *fans self* I...I'd like to thank the Academy Opera for choosing me. I've always loved the Oscars the letter O!! Erm..i also need to thank my Mum for giving birth to me. I know i came out chin first and caused you many many hours of pain...and...and i know when they finally went to lay me in your arms, you said "Shove that up your ass!"...and i know when i was a few months old you left me in a bank...and i know when i broke my arm you said it would be fine, before proceeding to yank and shake me shattered limb around...but its fine. *blows dramatic kisses* I love you!
And to my Dad...erm...Thanks for...teaching me all the swear words i know? Yes, thats come in handy over the years. Thanks to Paul, for letting me post that photoshopped picture of you as a fat lady in a bikini that time. And of course, thanks go to Little Boy monkey for always being there to try and rape my ears...apparently this made me a worthy person.

And lastly i would like to thank everyone who's ever read one of my posts
*tears up* especially my minions! I...*sniff*...Lindsay, i know your gonna win one of these soon! I sent them the cheque! *wipes a tear* Gavin...*sniff* i can't look at a PVC cat suit without thinking of you...*slaps hand to chest* yeah that gets me right here man! *flutters limp hand at her teary eyes* Bianca...oh wow i mean, can we get some applause for the gerbil-romper-shirt creator please! *crowd errupts* *candle waveage* i know...genius, GENUIS! *dabs eyes* Ok and..and Henry, erm, i love Canadian Maple Syrup!!! *takes deep breathe* And to everyone i forgot cause you're not as important, Thank you..THANK YOU! *some more crying* I want world peace...free tibet...SAVE THE DOLPHINS!! This is for my dog!" *shakes award in the air* *holds a baby over the balcony* *does pagent girl wave*

I Walked a Red Carpet and Met Famous Peoples!!

, , , ...

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! This post is gonna have ALOTTA picca-tures!! :D

Ok so, a few days ago i randomly entered this New Moon ballot for tickets to the Fan Party in London, where there would be musicians off the soundtrack playing and a Q&A with the cast and director of the film and other such lovelyness . So yes, i entered and then forgot about it figuring i would most definitely not be one of only 2000 people picked. But Sunday i got home from work and checked my mail and :yikes: I won tickets??! I never win ANYTHING! Now i've won something!! *does a little jig* :hat:

Anyhoo, i had two tickets so Paul said he would come with me and endure the screaming hormonal girlies. I am not one of those screaming hormonal girlies by the way (I actually consumed and adored the books before the films...and i don't particularly want Robert Pattinson's lovechild  ( :sst: although he is very attractive!! :D)). I also left puberty a while ago and I don't recall myself screaming when i'm excited...i'm more of a gasper... "*GASP* it's chocolate/a funny dog/something twilight-related"... or i might go "Eeeeee" and flap my hands...:right: actually screaming may look less embarressing...ANYWAY
Back to the story...
So yesterday, we go by train and the venue is in the middle of Battersea Park, which is really lovely actually (considering the weather was miserable)...
I met some animals...a squirrel and some ducks!
We eventually found the queue to pick up the VIP wristbands... Yes i got picture of that too!!
But getting them took sooooooooo long. They had one woman giving out the whole 2000 and i swear we stod in the cold and wet for 2 hooooooours untill i thought my bones were gonna snap. Finally we get to the front, get the wristbands, get through the security stuff and they have it all set up outside like a movie set...it was gorgeous, all trees and mist swirling and a floating paper moon. I was in  with it so much i wanted to just live there all the time!
As we carried on walking down towards the enterance, i see a lot of people screaming and lights and i'm thinking, whats that?? *takes picture*
Then a lady says "Smile on the red carpet"... Pardon?? :eyes: Red carpet??! Then we were on it. :insane: I've never been on a red carpet but it is scary (and very red)! The lights are so bright and there are TV cameras and people screaming and flashes going off! Wah! Was like a film premiere, just...without the film!

So we make it up the carpet alive and get directed to the special  wrist-band only people area inside (warmth, YES!) Inside they have more cool trees and mysterious fog...
And there was basically a stage with fancy lights everywhere, which the cool bands played upon and where the Q&A with the stars would take place...
We then took a picture of ourselves cause everyone else was doing it and we wanted to blend in...
Look how PALE i am! I could be a vampire in the next film!! No make-up required!

When Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris all came out the amount of cameras that went up in the air was ridiculous! I've never seen so many cameras or so many people breaking the "cameras prohibited" rule  Their answers were really funny and for once we didn't have to endure any "ROB/TAYLOR WILL YOU MARRY ME/HAVE MY BABY/BITE ME". They were actually interesting and diverse questions.
Anyway after this we decided to leave (and so did everyone else) so there was a slight crush on exiting! :eyes: It was ok though cause i'm well experienced with such things from my school bus days, when we would all crush each other to get on at once...which...actually resulted in no one getting on cause we were all stuck in a big ball of screaming bodies .

Ok back on track again!... After we got out i was a bit nervous about catching the train. I'd booked specific tickets for a specific train as they were dirt cheap (£6 return!! ) but if we missed that train we would not be allowed on another with that ticket nervous ...that make sense? But i really wanted to take some pictures of the bridges over the Thames as they light them up and London actually looks lovely at night
I also took a picture of this Buddist temple/shrine thing cause it was there, it looked good and a gold Buddah was waving at me!
We then had to powerwalk it through the park - Multimap said it would take me 20mins to walk it. 20 mins. How long do you think it took me? 20 mins? NO! :irked: 35 mins! So as we're striding down the road i'm rambling "we're gonna miss it *check watch* we're gonna miss it *check watch* we missed it!"

I get stressed very easily at most things so missing the only train we were allowed to get was like AHHHHH :faint: to me! We were then debating, do we try and get a taxi to Clapham Junction and attempt to beat the train so we can jump on there?? or do we just wait for the next train at 22.40?? although that would mean waiting 1 1/2 hours :frown:! (Imagine me saying all this at 30 miles an hour and slightly hyperventilating :right:)

Paul doesn't get stressed at anything so he's all "Oh it'll be fine" and i'm all like "IT'S NOT FINE!"
When we got to the station we actually winged it to Clapham on another train then had to wait till 21:53 for a train to Lewes. All the while i'm saying, "should we buy a ticket now or should we buy it on the train or should we pretend we only have this one ticket and we lost the other half or should we say we threw the other half away by mistake or what if they fine us for trying to get on with an invalid ticket or-" *Paul slaps me*

After we boarded the train i sat there, closed my eyes and didn't move for the whole hour journey, just thinking of anything except tickets! Turned out the conductor just didn't bother to check anyones tickets. I figured my good luck was winning the tickets, my bad luck was missing the train...then i got a little more good luck with winging it back home with no proper ticket! :D I swear that was the longest train ride ever though! :ko:

Anyway...have i talked enough yet? Nah. I'm so hungry cause we didn't get to eat anything yesterday, therefore i'm gonna be stuffing my face with food today. I already ate some chocolate this morning which made it feel like Christmas! At Christmas eating chocolate at 9am is considered appropriate, but every other day, nope that is not right. Today though, chocolate breakfast was good! I like going off on a ramble don't i  ...

IN CONCLUSION! :D I had much fun, we felt special, we had very good luck, i got cold, my back aches, but i got to walk a red carpet and meet famous people!...and a DUCK!

World's Smallest Banana??

, , ,

Maybe not but its daaayum cuuute! :D It's a bit squishy lookin' cause i founds it in the fridge at work and kept it in my pocket. I was going around showing everyone, but i think that just confirmed their suspisions that i'm weird . It basically went...

Me: *puts hand in banana box* What the... *pulls out baby banana* *GASP* *turns to other keeper* Look at the buby banana!! banana :D
Keeper:  *leaves fridge*
Me: *skips into kitchen* Look at this banana! banana
Keeper: :right:
Me: *skips into primate room* Look at this banana! banana
Keeper:
Me: *skips into the staff room* Look at this bana-
Head Keeper: Get back to work!
Me: Yes sir! :insane: *legs it with banana*

Ok maybe i exagerrated the ending there for dramatic effect , but i did show a lot of people and for some weird reason they were not as excited as me at the discovery of a tiny nana! They crazy, whats wrong with them?? Its a tiny BANANA banana :hat:! But do you know what i thought? My blog friends will LUUURVE tiny nana's! banana And i win the award for most useage of the banana smiley! banana

P.S. Please note that this baby banana was later adopted by big banana (pictured right) and they now live peacefully together on a book shelf, until soon when they will take their destined voyage to the tranquil planes of Lucy's stomach, where all good law-obiding bananas go... banana

(Disclaimer: No banana skins were smoked in the making of this blog post)

Poi-ing In Ze Dark!

Halloweenie

,

So guess what? Apparently, yesterday, it was Halloween :yikes: I know! We heard that a tradition of this low-key event is the carving of pumpkins, so here they are...
I had to work all day unfortunatly, so i was not the one to create this vegetable-art, but i was greeted to them staring at me from the window when i got home which was nice! I also walked in and saw a bowl of chocolate! :eyes: Helloo! *helps self*
Apparently this was not for me though  *gets chocolate hand slapped* This was for the trick or treaters. My sisters boyfriend pointed out that this must be the only day of the year you can go into a shop with a scary mask on and not be arrested ...it's also the only day of the year strangers can give children candy and not be arrested!

Anyway, we also roasted the pumpkin seeds for an hour  with spices and they were Yummmmers! :D
I've never actually eaten pumpkin but everyone seems to rave about pumpkin pie so maybe one day i should eat some. I don't understand pumpkin pie though, cause i thought pumpkin was like butternut squash...ya know, vegetabley...but people eat pumpkin pie with ice cream? Maybe you just add lots of sugary goodness  Sugar with FIBRE!

If You Go Down To The Woods....

, , ,

...You'll find me on my hands and knees!... :left:

Get your mind out of the gutter!! :irked:

I was actually looking for nuts! It's the annual "Great Nut Hunt" which aims to find areas where dormice are living. The dormouse is an endangered species here so it's quite important for animal geeks like me to go out and poke around in rotting leaf litter looking for nuts with specific holes in . For those that don't know what a dormouse looks like, here is one in hibernation!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. :D I actually did my dissertation on dormice, so after spending 6 months crawling around forest floors i'm pretty quick at searching . Sadly i didn't find any this time :frown:, but i've got my eye on some big hazel trees for next time so fingers crossed!

Anyhoo, its getting slightly more autumn outside now and i  the changing tree colours this time of year, so in between nutting i took some snapatures!
And something that reminded me of Lindsay :D
By the way, i don't mean she reminds me of a horse or..that... oh, you know what i mean!

Also, i came across this old railway bridge and of course the local youth had added their artwork to it... Um...don't look to the right...
Foxy Ladaaay! Considering what people usually spray on walls, this is pretty good!
But then i turned around and saw this...
What the... Err yeah. Very nice. :right:

There's A Bogeyman In My Loft....Maybe

,

Time for some randomness ramble...

Lofts. Attics. Space Under The Roof. Sky Parlor... :right: Anyway, i just put my fan up there for the winter and was wondering why they are peceived as scary places. Thats our loft. Is it scary? I find the possiblity of falling off the ladder more freaky then the actual room/space, but my sister hates them...and i mean HATES them. My mum doesn't like going up there either, but she is scared of heights - two big steps would worry her. So not wanting to scale a loft ladder is understandable. With regards to my sis, we once looked at a house and in one of the bedrooms there was the hatchway to the attic. She didn't even like standing in the room with it! The conversation was basically...

Me: "Ooo this room is quite nice"
Her: "Is that...is that the attic hatch?"
Me: "Oh, yeah...but what do you think of-"
Her: "Thats the attic hatch"
Me: "Yes but what-"
Her: *leaves room*

 I think when the light is on up there, she's not so bothered, but i've never seen her actually go up into one. Maybe its cause you have to poke your head up into a dark space at first and i guess if the axe-murderer/bogeyman is in residence he might like to take your head? Although, she might hate attics because, when she was 6 i did tell her that the tapping sound coming from up there was in fact a murdering dolly who was luring our parents up there under the pretence it was a leaky pipe....
I personally do not think this affected her at all. :right:.
