Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! This post is gonna have ALOTTA picca-tures!!
Ok so, a few days ago i randomly entered this New Moon ballot for tickets to the Fan Party in London, where there would be musicians off the soundtrack playing and a Q&A with the cast and director of the film and other such lovelyness

. So yes, i entered and then forgot about it figuring i would most definitely not be one of only 2000 people picked. But Sunday i got home from work and checked my mail and

I
won tickets??! I never win
ANYTHING! Now i've won something!! *does a little jig*

Anyhoo, i had two tickets so Paul said he would come with me and endure the screaming hormonal girlies. I am not one of those screaming hormonal girlies by the way (I actually consumed and adored the books before the films...and i don't particularly want Robert Pattinson's lovechild

(
although he is very attractive!!

)). I also left puberty a while ago and I don't recall myself screaming when i'm excited...i'm more of a gasper...
"*GASP*
it's chocolate/a funny dog/something twilight-related"... or i might go
"Eeeeee" and flap my hands...

actually screaming may look less embarressing...ANYWAY
Back to the story...
So yesterday, we go by train and the venue is in the middle of Battersea Park, which is really lovely actually (considering the weather was miserable)...
I met some animals...a squirrel and some ducks!
We eventually found the queue to pick up the VIP wristbands... Yes i got picture of that too!!
But getting them took sooooooooo long. They had one woman giving out the whole 2000 and i swear we stod in the cold and wet for 2 hooooooours untill i thought my bones were gonna snap. Finally we get to the front, get the wristbands, get through the security stuff and they have it all set up outside like a movie set...it was gorgeous, all trees and mist swirling and a floating paper moon. I was in

with it so much i wanted to just live there all the time!
As we carried on walking down towards the enterance, i see a lot of people screaming and lights and i'm thinking, whats that?? *takes picture*
Then a lady says "Smile on the red carpet"...
Pardon??

Red carpet??! Then we were on it.

I've never been on a red carpet but it is scary (and very red)! The lights are so bright and there are TV cameras and people screaming and flashes going off! Wah! Was like a film premiere, just...without the film!
So we make it up the carpet alive and get directed to the special

wrist-band only people area inside (warmth, YES!) Inside they have more cool trees and mysterious fog...
And there was basically a stage with fancy lights everywhere, which the cool bands played upon and where the Q&A with the stars would take place...
We then took a picture of ourselves cause everyone else was doing it and we wanted to blend in...
Look how
PALE i am! I could be a vampire in the next film!! No make-up required!
When Rob, Kristen, Taylor and Chris all came out the amount of cameras that went up in the air was ridiculous! I've never seen so many cameras or so many people breaking the "cameras prohibited" rule

Their answers were really funny and for once we didn't have to endure any "ROB/TAYLOR WILL YOU MARRY ME/HAVE MY BABY/BITE ME". They were actually interesting and diverse questions.
Anyway after this we decided to leave (and so did everyone else) so there was a
slight crush on exiting!

It was ok though cause i'm well experienced with such things from my school bus days, when we would all crush each other to get on at once...which...actually resulted in no one getting on cause we were all stuck in a big ball of screaming bodies

.
Ok back on track again!... After we got out i was a bit nervous about catching the train. I'd booked specific tickets for a specific train as they were dirt cheap (£6 return!!

) but if we missed that train we would not be allowed on another with that ticket

...that make sense? But i really wanted to take some pictures of the bridges over the Thames as they light them up and London actually looks lovely at night
I also took a picture of this Buddist temple/shrine thing cause it was there, it looked good and a gold Buddah was waving at me!
We then had to powerwalk it through the park - Multimap said it would take me 20mins to walk it. 20 mins. How long do you think it took me? 20 mins? NO!

35 mins!

So as we're striding down the road i'm rambling
"we're gonna miss it *check watch* we're gonna miss it *check watch* we missed it!"
I get stressed very easily at most things so missing the only train we were allowed to get was like AHHHHH

to me! We were then debating, do we try and get a taxi to Clapham Junction and attempt to beat the train so we can jump on there?? or do we just wait for the next train at 22.40?? although that would mean waiting 1 1/2 hours

! (Imagine me saying all this at 30 miles an hour and slightly hyperventilating

)
Paul doesn't get stressed at anything so he's all
"Oh it'll be fine" and i'm all like
"IT'S NOT FINE!"
When we got to the station we actually winged it to Clapham on another train then had to wait till 21:53 for a train to Lewes. All the while i'm saying,
"should we buy a ticket now or should we buy it on the train or should we pretend we only have this one ticket and we lost the other half or should we say we threw the other half away by mistake or what if they fine us for trying to get on with an invalid ticket or-" *Paul slaps me*
After we boarded the train i sat there, closed my eyes and didn't move for the whole hour journey, just thinking of anything except tickets! Turned out the conductor just didn't bother to check anyones tickets.

I figured my good luck was winning the tickets, my bad luck was missing the train...then i got a little more good luck with winging it back home with no proper ticket!

I swear that was the longest train ride ever though!
Anyway...have i talked enough yet? Nah. I'm so hungry cause we didn't get to eat anything yesterday, therefore i'm gonna be stuffing my face with food today. I already ate some chocolate this morning which made it feel like Christmas!

At Christmas eating chocolate at 9am is considered appropriate, but every other day, nope that is not right. Today though, chocolate breakfast was good! I like going off on a ramble don't i

...
IN CONCLUSION!

I had much fun, we felt special, we had very good luck, i got cold, my back aches, but i got to walk a red carpet and meet famous people!...and a DUCK!

Rob is a year younger than me - legal and toyboy!
Wow you make my post sound like a movie! Gavin is just jealous of my red duck...his duck-fetish is hard to control.

I have five children, so I wouldn't want his love child.. But I'm certain he'd have plenty of volunteers for that!
The red duck isn't a new species. It is known as a cinnamon teal. I guess they are more common in North America.
Loved the post, congrats on being MOTW.
Pleasure to meet ya!

ShallowMuse # 15. November 2009, 12:33
i look at them and i get a rash !
Hermitess # 15. November 2009, 12:36
Ew Gavin.
*envisions a whole line of vegetable scented candles shaped like vegetables*
I personally don't like food scented candles. It's completely unfair to keep smelling cake or cookies and then not have any. I tend to stick with flower, rain, pine smells.

I have a very farty rotweiler and far more polite daxin mix. Must be because she is a female.
Gavin Sheedy # 16. November 2009, 03:54
Hermitess # 16. November 2009, 08:03
Add farting dogs to that, one silent but deadly dog, the other surprisingly loud and equally stinky.
Mix
Turn on fan towards your victim. ew
Men.
And you all wonder why we females light so many scented candles.
