Cherries and Ginger

I ran into some infection problems the other day and have found that ginger is one of those amazing substances that combat infection in a unique and powerful way. If you're dealing with infection from a simple cut to profound nastiness - I encourage you to not only soak the infected area in a mixture of ground-up ginger and hot water (as hot as you can stand), but also to take it internally. Eating it really hits the spots the soaking can't!
As for cherries - a friend of mine got gout recently ... and for some reason cherries do wonders against gout. The interesting thing about gout is that, although it's a lifestyle/dietary problem, it's not caused by sugar. One wonders if eating cherry pie would logically be of use - but sugar often worsens conditions. Ah well - too bad we likely won't hear a doctor medicate someone with pastries any time soon.
