Locate a Person When They're Lost

People get lost sometimes. Find them!

Quickly, Hi, Bye!

Okay, just a quick note, since I know I won't get a chance to update for a while. We're kicking our festival plans into high gear next month! I'm so excited! All the filmmakers have given such great person lookup information that we're practically private investigators. No, seriously. In fact, just to make the festival more special, each filmmaker did a people search for someone from their past - so they could all have a reunion at the festival. Isn't that special? Anyway, I hardly have time to read hilarious rants anymore, so you'll have to read this one for me: To the McCain Girls. Mwah!

And the slog continues!

The one benefit of doing this people search film festival is that I've come across a lot more useful find a person sites. All the filmmakers that we've been working with have been really great about sharing sites and stories about how to find people. One person had to do a background check tutors for his son, and he told us how easy that was doing a person search. Anyway, I'm still really stressed, so I'm overdosing on omega 3 capsules.

Lost in a People Search Film Festival

Wow, sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been so busy with this Find People film festival! I think my buddy's idea is brilliant, so I'm really excited to be working with him, but it's so much work! I had really wanted to work on the films themselves, and I did help out a little bit, but just doing all the admin type stuff has been so hectic, it's practically a full time job for me! Fortunately, people search makes it easier. So much easier to find someone who, say, is a good caterer if I can do a background search on them just to make sure they check out. Anyway, so even though I still have an open invitation to go on set any time I want, I'm just too exhausted working on this other stuff. We want to get this even sponsored, but People Search USA turned us down. Any idea where we can find someone?

People Search and Film Making

Things have been really...interesting lately. My roommate really took to this short film idea, and we decided to use people search as sort of a subject for it. Well, the idea was basically stolen from my blog, "locate a person when they're lost." Basically we have this idea of showing a sort of prominent LA location (right now maybe Venice or Third Street?) and people being "lost" there, some literally, some figuratively. My roommate contacted a bunch of his old buddies, and what we're doing like a series of shorts, all around the "Lost in LA" theme, all showing prominent LA locations and the idea of being lost in a place like this. Some of them will be funny, some deep--all interesting. He wants to organize them into a little film festival of some sort. I've been really impressed by his drive. Actually, I've just been really impressed by him. He isn't even stoned much any more. I guess all he really needed was a good project? Well, we've been looking for cast and crew, mostly students, and I've been doing a background check on everyone to sort of make sure they are all legit. It's actually kind of hard to find someone reliable out here, from both ends. This one actress I talked to said she has to be really careful about the auditions she goes on because sometimes sexual predators put out fake audition ads. She always gets full contact information beforehand and looks people up before she meets with them, then usually takes a friend with her whenever possible anyway. I admired her dedication to safety. Anyway, so far the project has been going really well. It was just what I needed to make me feel better about my life again.

Movies and People Search

Okay, so this writer's strike has everyone at work really on edge. I came back from break to my boss completely freaking out about what this means for the industry. I've been working on updating his contact list "just in case" and actually have had to use my people search skills to track people down. I did find another cool find person site while I was looking as well. But I have to say, I'm really not liking this bottom rung of the ladder stuff. I mean, at first I was getting lots of experience and liking this job a lot, but lately I've been feeling like one of the little people. OH! Speaking of, my roommate sent me this list of euphemisms for the lower class which cracked me up. We've been getting along really well lately, and even if he is gross, he does have a lot of creative ideas. We've been talking about doing a short film to sort of showcase our skills and help us get ahead. He went to film school after all, so he knows how to do this stuff. I just need the creative outlet--if I never see another excel spread sheet it will be too soon! Meh...back to it I go.

Merry Christmas Break and People Search!

I am sooooo glad I got two weeks off my wretched job. I have just been relaxing, drinking, and hanging out with my friends. Tonight I am going to my parent's house to celebrate Christmas and do all that jazz. To my surprise, I have gotten way into this whole people search thing. Random, I know. But, I have found so many people from my past it's ridiculous. In fact, me and my high school buddies are having a little reunion in a couple days, which should be awesome. I've even turned my roommate into a people search private eye which is just hysterical to me. He's such a stoner, all he does is sit around and send his thanks to fourth meal , which he eats at like midnight. It's gross. I mean, I love the guy, but he's kinda gross. I can't believe he would even be interested in this kind of thing. Eh, people change I suppose. Well I gotta run to my parent's house. Be well!

People searching at Work

Hello again. Thought I'd update you all on my life and horrible job. I left the lousy job, the reason I haven't been back to rant about it! I am so much happier in my new job. It's still in the film industry, but working for a small company, so my day is so much more interesting and inspiring. I get to do a little of everything, so sometimes feel challenged, other days its the grunt work, but on the whole I'm loving it and I can definatly see a career path. The best of all is the company has a profit-share program so the more the company makes the more we make. This past week I have been working on a people search project. I've had to find people online using people search engines and it's really cool. At first I didn't have a clue what I was doing and felt overwhelmed, but I found: locate a person and was able to perform people searches in minutes.
Find People and PeopleSearchDigest.com - Public Records Now People Search were also 2 helpful people search resources. I should probably get back to it now, be back soon with more news on my life.

Bummed a Work!

I hate my job. That's why I am blogging right now. I'm just that bored. I'm Katie by the way. I am a receptionist at this movie studio and everybody thinks that they are all that. They aren't! They all treat me horribly and I'm so not challenged. I have a college degree people! I think they forget that sometimes. I only took the job because I really needed a job right after i graduated and I've been here for two years now. No promotions, no raise, no nothing! (Excuse the double negative). When they hired me, they promised that I would be moved up quickly, because I really want to work in development. I have so many ideas and I think that I have a really good sense of what works in a film, and what doesn't. I love movies. I see movies every weekend, and even on some weekdays. I think that in order to be successful in this business you need to see every movie, good and bad. That's how you get to know how to differentiate between the two. Gah! They are making me go run an inane errand. I promise I'll be back soon with more on my horrible job.
