[update] excuse

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to postpone blogging and most opera-related activities for the forseeable future. My mum is ill in hospital, so obviously that's our main priority at the moment. I'll catch up again when I can.

xx

P.S read more for updates

___________________________________________________________________________________________

Monday October 23rd

She's been in hospital exactly 6 days, and in intensive care for 5. But, presuming she has a 'good night' tonight, she'll be out of intensive care and into the normal neuro-ward, which is great news =]

Tuesday October 24th
The operation was only 1 week ago, but this morning she came out of intensive care :D and her personality is completely back to normal!

Thursday October 25th
I couldn't get into the hospital today, so instead I called my mum (cause she now has a phone by her bed) and, provided tonight goes well and there are no complications, she could be out tomorrow!!!

[updated] I'M BACK!!!

, ,

And hopefully this time I can keep up with myself!

Arrived back from Scotland late last night. And have been busy ever since, had to empty my case, and then tidy up the mess from that!

Had a lovelly time in Scotland, managed to sail several times and spent a huige amount of time with my cousins, which was awesome since I don't see them much.

But wait, I promised a blog about my entire Summer so far, not just the last 10 days. First comes Tunisia!

We had a great time there, and be proud...I didn't burn!!! Dani is sure that I always burn, no matter how much suncream I wear! Sheesh, I even burned in Wales in May! So normally when we go away to a resort we spend most of our time laying around the pool, but this time I think we went out at least every other day. Plus, we made more friends than normal, as in we made some at all. And we're planning to meet up soon, which is awesome! I can't wait!

As far as going out, we went shopping in Port Al Kantoui (the resort we were staying in), shopping in Sousse, the local town (incidentally, sousse is where they filmed part of "A Life of Brian"). We also went on a trip to El Jem, a Roman amphitheatre, the trip included a ride on a 'pirate ship' which was cool, if a little crowded. The other two organised trips we went on were a camel ride (rather rocky but fun indeedy) and a quad bike ride (WOW!).

So yes, overall Tunisia was a hit.

Sadly my pictures won't upload, but hopefully I can add them in tomorrow. Now it's getting quite late so I will also blog about Scotland tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone who still reads my blog, even after so long! I'll get back to you all soon. Promise.

[update] Hey Sorry Hey Sorry Hey Sorry... etc

Just a very quick update and big apology. I have been busybusybusy for ages and opera's been the last thing on my mind. Had no time to even breath! Just spent two amazing weeks in Tunisia, got back yesterday and am leaving first thing tomorrow for 10 days sailing in Scotland. Awesome!!! Just very rushed. It's like 11pm here and I've only just finished packing. Still gotta have a shower and shizzle before I go to bed. But hey, life's great. Got loads of news to tell everyone- busyness gives me lots to talk about! When I come back I'll catch up with you all. Pinky Promise.

So again, sorry for not blogging lately and replying to messages. Will catch up with everything in 10 days time.

[Update] Hey

,

Hey everyone,

It's been another busy few days. Coursework coming in from all directions, music commitments, work and all that jazz...

It's nice to see Ghost back again, thought you'd disapeared forever!!! :D

Anyway, I thought I ought to update everyone on the "God" thing

In registration on Tuesday my friends and I started having an friendly debate about the existance of god, it was quite interesting. Since we're of completely different opinions Dani and I managed to carry it on for the rest of the day. So, in the evening Dani sent me this email, part of which is forwarded from a different email but most of it she did herself. It's quite interesting and I thought you may like to see it.

Hope this helps...

This is one of the best explanations of why God allows pain and suffering that I have seen: A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: I don't believe that God exists." Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things." The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not
exist." How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!" No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside." Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me." Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

I'm adding this to this email cause i think it applies to what we were talking about...

When you experience pain and suffering, don't doubt God - that is the time when you need him most. No matter what you feel, he will NEVER leabe you or let you down. NEVER. You may like to talk to your friends about your problems, and that's all good, but when you're in despair, the person you really need to talk to is God - he is the only one who can truly help.

2 Corinthians 1: 3-7
"All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. You can be sure that the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ. So when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your benefit and salvation! For when God comforts us, it is so that we, in turn, can be an encouragement to you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. We are confident that as you share in suffering, you will also share God's comfort."
- You may feel as if God has it in for you or simply doesn't care about YOUR suffering compared to everyone elses. I know it may be hard to contemplate, but it is through suffering that we can grow stronger and that we appreciate when life is good. Suffering may sometimes tear people apart, but often it will bring people together, and it is at those times that you know who your real friends are, who truly cares for you and who you can look to for comfort when times are trying.

Romans 8: 9-11
"You are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God in you (And remember those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them are not Christians at all.) Since Christ lives within you, even though your body will die because of sin, your spirit is alive because you have been made right with God. The Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by the same Spirit living within you."
- Don't be scared of death. As long as you turn to Christ, you can live without sin and be protected by his Spirit. The sinful nature of humans means that your human life has to come to an end, but your soul will live on, stronger than it ever was here on earth. If you repent for your sins and accept God into your heart, you have nothing to fear and when you die, you will go to a place where no evil hands can touch you.

Jeremiah 29: 11-15
"For I know the plans i have for you" says the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a good future." "When you pray to me, I will listen. If you search for me with all your heart, you will find me. I will let you find me" declared the Lord.
- This is my favorite verse in the Bible. It's a solid promise from God that he has a plan for your life, and however fulfilling you think your plans are, the plans God has for you will give you such a larger sense of fulfillment. It's also a promise of always having someone to turn to. Whenevr you have ANYTHING on your mind, just pray. Don't be scared, God doesn't want to hear respectful words that you have been instructed to say - he wants to hear what you really feel inside your heart, no matter how rude or brutal that is. He wants the real you, cause he knows what you're thinking anyway. I know it's a scary thought but you can't hide anything from God. Lastly, when you recognize God as your Saviour and really turn to him, hunger for him, search for him with all your heart, he will be waiting there with outsretched arms, and once he has you in his grip, he will NEVER let you go.

Job 5: 17-21
"Consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin. For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal. He will rescue you again and again so that no evil can touch you. He will save you from death in time of famine, from the power of the sword in time of war. You will be safe from slander and will have no fear of destruiction when it comes."
- Humans can be very selfish at times. They want free will to do what they want, but also want to be saved from destruction, that was brought on by free will itself! If you have faith in God, he can see your suffering, and it breaks his heart, but he will not let you come to any real harm while your in his protection. You may think that suffering on this earth is immense. Have you ever thought that on a scale of one to ten, our suffering could have been ten and it's only really a tenth?

I know that you (ahem charlie!!!) will probably think of something to contradict what i've said but you know in your heart what you believe and i don't ever want to change that, i'm just trying to explain to you what I believe and if you choose to do the same, it's your call.

There may be no concrete evidence - You can't see God so he must nbot be real. You can't see wind, but do you believ in wind? Yes, because you can see the effect it has on all that comes in contact with it. Well it's the same story with God. You just have to open your eyes to see the miracles he has worked in the lives of others, people who have seeked him for help and have recieved his mercy. He can do exactly the same for you, all you have to do is BELIEVE!!!

I know i get hysterical when i debate but i still love you all and definitely don't judge you because of what you believe. I'm in no position to tell you that you're wrong. See you at school =]

p.s. if you can think of anyone who i haven't sent this to but you think should see it then just forward it =]]

Well, let me know what you think...

[update] I'm back!

,

I know, I know, I said I'd be back right after half-term. But it's been so busy, like, non-stop busy, 'specially with school work.

So, what's been going on?

Well, first we had exams, which, whilst I din't do brilliantly, I didn't completely fail either. My best result was definately art; I got 86% which was a solid A. The worst was Physics; a result of just 39% (bear in mind that the highest result in my class was 60% and we're meant to be the second set) haha, stupid isn't it! I was, however, quite proud of my Japanese result: 68%- my highest language result, ever! Yay!

Then, in half-term my grandparents took Dani and I to wales to stay for the week in the little house they have there. It's a lovelly place, and it was an incredibly nostalgic trip for me, because until two years ago I went there on a regular basis. Well, not to there exactly but to a house three buildings up the road, which my dad owns. Luckily, it turned out that my dad wasn't there, which was a weight off've my mind- I was scared there was going to be trouble when we went down there. Although, in one way I wish they'd been there, at least they'd have found for themselves that I went, rather than through distorted rumours and gossip.
Anyway, we had a great time- lots of funny pictures taken and several heart-to-heart conversations.

When we came back and went to school we were suddenly hit with a barrage of coursework and exam results. So, since then I've been shut up in my room working feverishly to get everything in on time. Right now I'm supposed to be doing maths, but to be honest I haven't gotten anywhere with it, so I'm giving up for tonight.

I've had a lot on my mind lately, so I think in a few moments I will be posting a more serious blog. Hope you don't mind!

:D

See if you can spot the changes p:

Manga

, ,

I've made my first attempts at drawing "Manga" and "Anime".

It's for my art exam at school, we can pretty much draw what we like, but we have to do all the appropriate preparation. One of the suggestions is language. So my idea was to draw about the "language barrier" between two English and Japanese Lovers. I thought that in this I could merge Manga and Pop-art.

Hope you're all well

Money...

, , ,

In short, I have none. Been shopping too many times lately! And to many people have had birthdays!!! The one good thing is that I tend to shop in sales, rarely buying full priced items. My mother brought me up as a cheapskate lol, the best way to be I think.

Went to town with Holly today, and since it is her birthday tomorrow her mum gave us some money for lunch, so we got a delicious vegie patty sub from subway. Wahoozle. And I bought a good quality waist-coat for £5.00 and delicate red t-shirt. Which is great, because we're going out for a meal tonight, for Hol's birthday and now I have some clothes to wear.

Still haven't started that Japanese speach, I was putting it off because of the exam and then I was given a 2000 word piece of English coursework to write, but I promise, I will start as soon as I've made a good start on the c/w.

Finally had a proper conversation on Skype last night! I downloaded it a while ago but was to scared to have a voice conversation with people who I didn't already know. So, I pursuaded Dani to download it and we were talking for hours. Both of us were very excited at the prospect of being able to talk for free online. We told all our friends that were online at the time, and typically, everyone either didn't have a microphone or the one they had was broken!

I've opened a new photo album entitled 'Winter '05-'06', right now there are just photo's that I took yesterday in the snow. But if I take any others or find any I'll upload them...

Above, my favourite image so far.

This is quite a random post, more of an update really. I haven't done anything particularly interesting in the last few days so...
