Ignorance

ig-no-rance; n.
the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.
As part of their Independence Day celebrations, a local town put on a Civil War reenactment tonight.
I have a couple of problems with this.
What kind of stupid does one have to be to believe that the Civil War has anything to do with America gaining its independence from Britain? Is it too hard to do an Revolutionary War reenactment? Just put someone in a tower and have them shout the British are coming, the British are coming, and then you're done.
The plain racism associated with supporting the confederate army, flag, and cause, also bugs me. Why be proud of enslaving and poorly treating an entire race of people? Do modern Germans wear swastikas because they're "proud of their heritage"?
Oh, and you "rebels" know that you ... lost the war, right?
Sometimes I hate living in the South.
