ad-dic-tion
1. compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal ; broadly : persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful
When you hear the word addiction, you generally think of drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, etc. Addictions can be so much more, though, like a video game, website, or simple habit.
For me, my latest addiction is BrokenPictureTelephone.com - a web-based game.

The premise is this: much like that childhood game called "Gossip" or "Broken Telephone", BPT starts with one phrase and ends with another. It's been adapted for Internet use with one major addition: pictures. One user types a phrase, another user draws a picture of that phrase, someone types what they see, and the game continues for a set number of rounds. Hilarity ensues.
For example, I just participated in a game that started with "Tie your mother down; take your little brother swimming with a brick" and ended with "Seahorse jumping out of the sea with Pamela A. in a red bikini on it."
Seriously, I highly recommend you check it out. It's a great way to kill time (that you don't have...)
