A status of warrior from the heaven standing on the temple's roof. Chinese traditional architeture would put some animal or myth people on the roof of a house which symbolized that the architecure was guared by them.

This makes me think of some Catherderals in the UK. They often have statues called 'Imps' high up, supposidly to scare away evil. But I'd much rather have this guy guarding the temple!
