Opera off line meeting in Nagoya, JAPAN

group photo of the meeting the board showing our meeting

Last Saturday, I joined in a off-line meeting for Opera users. The meeting was held in Nagoya, Japan. I am familiar with the place (I spent my school days there) but I was a little nervous. This was the first time for me to attend this kind of meeting and nobody whom I had met before was there. In the result, there was nothing to worry about.

I could see a lot of opera users whom I know well on the web and I always wanted to see. Although I stopped my web activities three years ago except for this space (my opera), old users remembered me and even new people, who didn't know my old site, knew me as an author of Opera-tan.

I really enjoyed the program such as self-introductions, presentations, discussion for about customizing Opera and video letter from Jon von Tetzchner.

After the first session which was held in a conference room, we shifted more casual venue. We ate a lot of tebasaki (wings of chicken cooked in a local method) and took a bath in a spa together. During that, we enjoyed talking about Opera; for instance, why did Opera 9.5 become immature product? :ーP

The meeting was finished on the Sunday. I said good-by to my new friends in the morning at the front of the spa. Then I went another tour and came back home yesterday.

I would like to say thank you to all the participants of the meeting and I am looking forward to join next meeting.
