Party Poker Launches Next Ladies Event

Ladies – this next poker announcement is directed at you. It’s time to pencil onto your calendar the next installment of the by-now famous Party Poker Women’s World Open tournament, brought to you by industry leading gambling group, Party Gaming.
The Women’s World Open is one of the most exciting tournaments available on the circuit for the fairer sex, where some of the industry’s top players meet to battle it out on the felt and take home the title and a tidy sum of money - $50,000 in all!
Party Gaming has said that the next Women’s World Open will be played out at the Three Mills Studio in London next month and thirty six of the industry’s best female players are already honing their skills, sharpening their fingernails and eyeing their competition in a bid to take home the title.
Spectators will be able to see WSOP Europe winner Annette Obrestad in action during the tournament, as well as the world renowned actress and poker player Jennifer Tilly and Lynne Beaumont of UK Women’s Poker Tour fame.
“I really enjoyed playing this event the last time I was here, and I'm looking forward to playing it again,” said the Academy Award nominated Tilly. “It was a great competition with a good structure, and it was fun to match wits with some of the best female poker players in Britain.”
Obrestad, the Norwegian wunderkind, is excited about her first televised ladies only event and definitely has her eyes on the title. “I look forward to playing and commentating at the tournament,” she said. “This will be my first ladies only tourney that is televised so it will be interesting to see if that changes the way they play, and how I'll have to adjust. Hopefully we'll see some cat fights!”
