Legendary Phil Hellmuth, the face behind online poker site, Ultimate Bet, has all his sights on the upcoming World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas. Hellmuth is eyeing his twelfth bracelet and is visibly psyched up for the event as he promotes it on Ultimatebet and absolutepoker.com.
But WSOP is not the only tournament being held in the coming months and Hellmuth is also busy promoting the 2009 Aruba Classic for which Ultimate Bet is the official sponsor.
While the Aruba Classic, an extremely popular Caribbean based tournament, is only scheduled for October, Ultimate Bet has already released the event schedule to allow poker fans to diarize the dates and gear themselves up physically and mentally for this great poker showdown.
It is believed that this year’s Aruba Classic will be bigger and better than previous years as it coincides with Ultimate Bet’s 10th birthday celebrations.
Hellmuth said about the new schedule: “Aside from winning my 12th bracelet at the WSOP, the week-long Aruba Poker Classic poker experience is what I’m looking forward to the most this year. Millions in prize money, more players than ever, UB’s 10th birthday bash, and unbelievable parties. I mean, what’s not to love?”
This year’s Aruba Classic will take place at the Radisson Resort as always, and the event is expected to attract 550 top poker players in the industry. Players should also expect to find familiar faces such as Annie Duke, who will be keen to get back into poker after her much talked about appearance on Donald Trump’s reality TV show, “Celebrity Apprentice”.
This year’s schedule is thus as follows:
$500 + $40 No Limit Hold ‘em Event – October 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9
$5000 + $500 Aruba Poker Classic Championship Event – October 5-10
$2000 + $200 – 2 Day No Limit Hold ‘em Tournament – October 7
Tournament to Benefit Aruba Community - October 8th
$2,000 + $100 No Limit Hold’em Six-Handed Tournament - October 9th
