wine, Linux, dual boot, mac
...
Long time no post...but I've been getting this question quite a lot lately. Can you play Full Tilt
poker for Linux? Of course you can....but not natively. You've got to dual boot or use wine to play at Full Tilt and even then it's not all that stable. Most people have been using the
absolutepoker.com no download software if they're on Linux and from the US.
I tried it and it worked fine...nothing to brag about and when I used it there was no sit and go play but I believe they might have added some tournaments....not too sure though.
Anyways, I've been working my ass off lately with the
poker for US player page at Compatiblepoker. It's been a real major pain in the ass lately, since I like to keep it updated every day/hour. When new shit happens every hour I have to go in and modify things so much and as you can see the page has gotten huge. Loads of information which is why I guess it gets over 600,000 page views a month.

They took long enough but finally started adding Bonus codes for Full Contact Poker. Here is the first one we got at Full Contact Poker (
www.Fullcontactpoker.com)
Bonus Code for September -
16415That bonus code got me 100% up to $200 which was not bad. You have to enter it into the referral and promotion section. The full review on the whole site and bonus releasements is at the
Full Contact Poker review.
The site is pretty cool. Actually the poker room is nothing special just another copy of Poker Room. I really liked the forum. Seems like people were cool and Negreanu posts alot. Im not a huge forum poster but made a couple there. Im going to see if we can get a freeroll going down sometime next week possible. I played the site on my iBook Macintosh and it worked fine. Should work on pretty much all Mac computers if you use the Java.
Til then,

I had a couple requests about
Party Poker for Linux. Yes the Java will work on Linux. Like I said with mac users it is only play money. Supposedly Party Poker said the Java will be fully functional in about 3 weeks. You can still sign up but youre stuck with virtual money games.
No more need for Wine to play Party poker. Thank god because there were so many issues involved with it. Java makes life much easier sometimes.

Played at Full Tilt poker on Mac
Ok I just got finished playing at
Full Tilt Poker on my Mac. As you well know from my previous posts I am very happy with the software.
Aces at Full Tilt Poker
To start the game off I was dealt pocket aces. Can't beat that the first hand. I was playing the $5/10 NL game and busted out first hand. The pot was raised and reraised a ton preflop to the point where I just went all in. There was one play who only had like $300 and he called before the all-in. Another played called my raised for $600. Turns out the sizeable stacked guy had pckt kings and tripped up on the flop. Great way to start off.
Busting Out at Full Tilt Poker
It was all downhill thereafter. Busting out two more times I decided to take a small intermission to gather my thoughts and beat the crap out of my bean bag I have in a room. Going back for more I donked off another $2K building it up to about $5,000. Lovely. Screw it, I went up to the $5,000 NL tables which I never do. Doubled up in about 5 minutes and left.

On Tilt at Full Tilt Poker
I was on major tilt which is why I left. My nerves are terrible these days and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Poker is just a recreational game for me these days not because I was a losing player but because I was wasting away my life playing cards all night.
So I'm back playing the $5/10 tables like usually and hopefully I won't go on tilt anymore then needed.

You may have remembered a few posts ago about
Party Poker potentially coming to the Mac.
Well its finally here and we've gone the beta download for
Party Poker for Macintosh.
We tried out the beta and found a few kinks. The first time we loaded the Java software it took forever to start up. During this trial of the beta they only had play money games but might have real money by now.
Honestly, I'm a little disappointed. How can a site like Party Poker not develop a native software for Macs. I mean come on the site has millions of dollars and is the biggest one out there yet they only build a Java software component? WTF
Like they say "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth." I'm not complaining but seriously they could have done better. We'll soon find out how good the software really is once all the graphics are uploaded etc.
