atlantis, poker, bahamas, entertainment
Mmmmm, the bahamas. Poker Stars is having the Carribean Adventure tournament which I believe is an EPT, (European Poker Tour) tournament. I've got these private jet airline credits which I feel like using and think this might be a good time to use them. Flying sucks for me because I hate the feeling of not being in control but flying private, yeah, I'll be able to handle it. It'd probably only be a 30 minute flight if that anyways.
So if I get bored next week I might make the trip over. I need to get the hell out of Jacksonville for awhile and Atlantis looks like a pretty neat place. I missed a convention there last year so this might be a good little vacation.
The buy-in for the tournament is $8k plus hotel and all the jazz. There's satellites running at Poker Stars but Im such a bad player these days I'd rather just wing it and hope I get lucky at the actual event. Don't want to use up all my good karma on satellites.

Also, I launched a new site that has some more
pokerstars marketing codes. It'll eventually be translated into 3-4 more languages when I get the time. We should be getting a freeroll added to the marketing code sometime next month also for Compatiblepoker visitors.

This just happened today. Pinnacle sportsbook and casino stopped taking US bets. Wow this is huge news especially since they stopped all bets right before the Super Bowl. There must be something really worrying them. Here is the full news piece.

After playing at
Poker Stars for the past few months I started playing at FTP a bit more. I was experiencing some bad beats (probably bad plays by me) and just couldnt get anything going at Poker Stars. It has just been hard to motivate myself to play poker period. What I've really been jonesing to do is play some live tournament events.
To me nothing compares to playing live poker games. While my experience is extremely limited at live events I enjoy them so much more. It's hard to even find a decent home game around Jacksonville and I've been contimplating driving over to New Orleans to play some cards. I have a friend that works over there so I could probably hang out at the TPC golf course over there and play some cards and poker. It would be good times, and a lot better than playing the
Poker Stars online tournaments.. The only thing holding me back right now is my car. I desperately need to get a new vehicle. Its not that I can't afford a new car I just really hate spending money on things that depreciate and a car is the ultimate crap hole investment. Although, one day I do want to purchase a dodge viper. Not a new Viper but the 2000 models. The newer models are a little too futuristic for me and I personally like the older styles better.
But anyways, I played Allen Cunningham at
Full Tilt Poker the other day and I have to admit, it was the first time I've had fun playing at the poker table in a long time. Actually it was the first online poker table that I've sat down at where the people were acting civilized, which is hard to come by with all the dingbats who play internet poker now. It's like freak central these days.
Last night I was playing at Full Tilt Poker just for fun. I had $100 left over after I paid out some bloggers for ad spaces so I didnt want to cash out such a small amount so I played the heads up $100 NL Holdem table. I played for about an hour and took two peoples bank rolls and got mine own up to about $500. Then the boredom set in and I went to the $2/4 table and lost it all. Even though I knew I could bluff this one guy I kept trying because that's the only thing that excites me playing online poker anymore, trying to get away with stupid bluffs. That's why I don't play the $25/50 tables because I'd get bored and windling away my life savings.

Me personally I like to play at
Pokerstars.com because they are now the biggest and I really like the big tournaments they run. Lately I haven't been playing too much. To me it's just gotten a little boring and the money you win doesn't offset the risk you have to take. For me to get a rush or for it to be worth it I have to play $10/$20 or above and I don't care to do that online. There is too much collusion at those stakes. Im one to believe if you're not playing mid to low stakes online poker it's tough to win a lot because of all the cheaters.

Well we finally got the swedish poker page up (
poker på Mac). There should be a casino specific page coming soon as well...once I get off my ass and get the page translated, which lately could be never.
It drains my eyes to look at the computer these days. I guess 3-4 years of non-stop looking at the computer playing poker and working on websites really got to me because I don't want to do shizzle anymore. Well golf that's about it. In the updated we also added a new casino page for french users. The title is
casino pur Mac and it talks about casinos that are in French.

So I played a little bit of
Elimination Blackjack the other day. It was pretty fun. I played at UBT and also UB. They are the same thing but at one site it's only for fun and the other was for real money. Blackjack is still a weird game to me. I've never really read up on all the rules and which is probably why I lose all the time. But since I've played and studied poker so much I prefer it this way. It keeps kind of that exciting feeling knowing you're playing a new game.

It's funny when I made this post things were a lost different. The only way for me to keep track of which poker sites are taking americans is to keep update this page
www.Compatiblepoker.com/usa.phpThings changed dramatically and in the post below I said Paradise was open and Poker stars was not. That's all changed now.
Party Poker, Poker Stars, and 888 just pulled out of the online poker market. ParadisePoker.com said they will STAY until their time is up.
Some theories are going around that maybe its a good thing that these big sites are pulling out. It will make people aware of the banning and vote accordingly come time for elections.
Really, this whole thing makes me so mad its hard to write. How frustrating is this. Im having a hard time mustering up something to type because I just want to drive up to where ever it is Bill Frist lives and ask him what the fuck his problem is.
I mean seriously is your future agenda really worth pissing off millions of people to get your way. What kind of selfish tyrant is this fucking guy.
Thank you ParadisePoker for having the balls to stay open, even if it's just for a little while.

Apple, Apple Games, apple iTV, Mac games
...
I just read a little bit about the
Apple iTV and wrote an article on what I found. The product seems good I guess. It has all the stuff you'd want but basically it's just a convenience product. To me it's more like a (buy our new movies on iTunes) type of product than a real advancement. They say the price is going to be $300 but I half expect it to be cheaper just so more people buy it. If had internet capabilites I'd be friggen all over it.
I also just uploaded the latest
native Mac Party Poker release.

Well after about 5 days of PartyPartners being down I finally finished up the
PartyBingo Sign up bonus code section. The bingo games are pretty cool. Don't get me started on PartyPartners in general but I actually liked the software at PartyBingo. It makes you feel happy for some odd reason.
There was a decent amount of people playing. I can't imagine a huge following but enough to chat with some people and have some fun with it.
I'll post when I finish the other PrtyPartners reviews and bonus codes.

I just got word of the
Macintosh software for Party Poker that went live with the native Mac Party client. It's pretty sick. I really wasn't expecting it so soon. The manager kind of sprung it on me and all the sudden it was out. But, thank god it's finally released. And also, its nice to see a billion dollar company build a native version instead of just that Java style they put out earlier.
But, I still hate Party Poker as a player. Too many rude people play there so I stick to other places. Party Poker sure does attract some weird people. Maybe us Mac users can bring some decency and civilization to these thugs.

Lata,
Roger
