And most definitely we do, and one you can have as close and handy as your dock is great - to be able to just type the word your after rather than pick up and search through the pages of a book is both quick and efficient.
Now then add to that pre defined and installed dictionaries of French and Spanish to English, and vice versa along with a few other ones available such as Chinese, Japanese and Russian.
Just found this app today and by far its the best dictionary i've used especially when i can also have the Britannica Concise Encyclopedia contents available to me also it's great for a quick source of info.

The amount of money you have to pay for a computer game, especially for the mac as is you get the same game on the two platforms mac and pc the one for mac will be at least £10 more than the one for pc - yeah ok i understand the work that goes into porting the games over its just something that bugs me, in terms of commercial software application i dont really mind as they can be really reasonable if you go for the alternatives say Intego Netbarrier instead of Norton Firewall.
But back to the game thing, i like my games and when i used my pc i was a big fan of them - which cost me a canny penny. Now then, on the mac i found a whole new world of games, yes i had bought a few but only on the cheap as in Warcraft III, Diablo II, Myst IV, Myst V and Football Manager 2005 all totally great stuff but i discovered the absolute wealth of top quality freeware and opensource games for the mac platform which match the likes of Quake and Civilisation for gameplay and graphics.
Online games are also a big favourite with me - not into any at the moment but i have tried a few, then the amount of cool flash games you gan play online are also good for a game.

Well, i used that Fennel DVD Manager today to record my collection of 165 dvd's, so far
, and that includes a few box sets of movies. Its really simple to use, all my movies i could retrieve the information from the net from Amazon or the IMDb through the app itself with images too. The search facility for retrieving the movie data is good, numerous options appear just select which one you have but admittedly there wre a few searches that i was confused with - not the programs fault just the way movies are labelled commercially.
An all round good application that does what it says on the tin, once you have your database you can keep track of your dvd's as to which are yours or borrowed, which are lent out and to who.

Not much going on in handy freeware that i reckon is worth mentioning, i think i've exhausted all those in the forum and i've been concentrating abit on my personal blog over the past few days and the job search continues.
Come up with a couple here that i found;
Fennel DVD ManagerIf you like your dvd's like me, and i'm guessing we all have a collection. Keep track of your library, update the information and description from the net - looks quite clean and simple so i d'led it. Freeware is great for useful little apps and i'm certainly gonna make use of this.
FlameA network monitoring tool
"Just start Flame to see all the computers on the network that are advertising services. (If it can, it'll identify the user of each computer instead of giving you the machine's name.) Disclose the services available from each. You can even delve right into the service record to see the gory details, if you like that sort of thing."

The thing with all this junk mail is, its got to a point where i recieved an email from "supposedly" monster.co.uk and "supposedly" a recruiter of sorts i suppose. He/she/it requested i contact them as they had seen my cv and thought i had the necessary skills to start my own home business.
Now first off it wasnt direct from monster.co.uk cause the email was weird, second off it read like junk mail and thirdly if it wasnt junk and actually genuine it was a crap suggestion and probably some sort of pyramid scheme.

here i sit in front of my computer listening to music, podcasts and looking around the net yet i have no interest in anything particular. i have now been on the sick for an age it seems, there are no jobs to speak of to apply for as suits my skill set and i'm frankly pretty damn bored stiff having far too much time on my hands and relatively little income i am relatively uninterested in going anywhere or engaging in any activity.
i write this post with boredom and despondency severely locked in, with as much interest in typing out this post as i have in anything else - think i'll go and engage my mind in a game of Super Mahjong, that'll keep me interested for a while.

i'm getting more and more spam these days in the inbox, and reports are that email scams are getting more and more sofisticated and i'll take that as a definate. i got this in my inbox the other day;

i also recieved another which stated it was from an ebay user wnating to know if my item was still for sale as he was online and ready to pay - again, considering i dont, never have and never intend to use ebay "oops anothe EMAIL SCAM" binity winity, empity trashity.

wi-fi dongles, dont use them i tell you - hehe, more trouble than they are worth and as far as i can see mpossible to get to work. i bought one for my ibook (g4 800mhz model), i was after puting in an airport extreme card but was told they were not available any more for the model ibook i had - poppycock i say, now that i know anyway. the problem was the dongle i had bought was actually faulty, i had sent it back for testing and that was the findigs, when they rang up to tell me so i been doing some digging and the card was availble for purchase only that day they had none in stock.
so proceding to tell me it was not made anymore - pile of crap. theay are now thankfully sending me myairport extreme card at no extra cost, i should think so too mind you they are actually cheaper than what i paid for the dongle, sneaky buggers will be using the few extra pounds for the p&p.
so anyway - other mac stuff;
i found this
the masq project, only in betas at the moment, its a communications method of the old aol chat room style - or so it says, i havnt the foggiest - where you can see all the users and chat to everyone or anyone you like instead of the likes of ichat where you only have your select friends - if you get my meaning. it uses your ichat account to chat to people over voice and video, i do hope they add a normal im chat style communication as well chat rooms we'll have to wait and see how it is going to develop.
also found this -
pando, is also in beta and its function is for sending large files upto 1 gigabyte over email, so if youve got work samples or high res photographs you want to send to people this is the way to do it. take a peak it looks quite good.
