New tabs cool! :up: Thanks lachralle!

Kamalesh 6. May 2008, 18:53

Nice work. :smile: Good look. (Maybe add a darker background to the tab bar area...so there's some nice Leopard-like depth. Currently, it's same color as the background tabs.) No separation line on the primary tab to the addr bar and page area is sleek, also. :cool:

New tabs seem to have a dent. Shouldn't the gradient be other way? I probably already got used to previous design...

Kamalesh 6. May 2008, 20:34

Btw, I know that the proxy icon in the Opera title bar area is gone (as in Safari), but right-clicking a context menu, should still reveal the URL path. I noticed it doesn't show anything in Build 4808 in Leopard.

This would be the GUI-menu equivalent of cmd+backspace (cmd+delete), to crawl up to the root of the URL path.

Looks like dragonfly can kill opera without much effort :wink:
did you consider using http://smartcrashreports.com/ to get crash-feedback?

Hein Tore 7. May 2008, 12:59

I love how the new tab bar looks, but I'm not too sure about the white text colour for background tabs that has finished loading ...

Joachim Blaabjerg 7. May 2008, 15:17

@kamalesh: Hm, neat. Could you file a bug/enhancement request on that, please?

@Indeyets: Yes, we use Smart Crash Reports. Doesn't it work? :smile:

@zyph: The text is blue here. Anything special about your setup or skin?

porneL 7. May 2008, 16:26

SmartCrashReports works fine on Tiger.

For Leopard beta has been released just recently.

Hein Tore 7. May 2008, 21:29

@blaabjerg: Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I had "System colour" selected in the skins settings, so that explains the ugly, white text colour.

Now the tab bar is PERFECT!

I get blue text color for background tabs that finish loading, but haven't been viewed yet. After clicking to view, text color becomes black. (Native skin.)

@porneL:
Interesting idea.

@Joachim:
Done. #328624 :smile: (Would be a cool and useful enhancement on all Opera platforms/devices, actually, since millions of Opera users won't know about cmd-delete shortcut.

I hope the mac team update the java embedding plug-in to 0.9.6.4 cause in it's release notes it fixes the java heap space errors that I reported with bug -287912. I tried to add the new plug-in the the latest snapshot build 4814 but it didn't work. :confused:

It said in the java console- Exception in thread "Thread-32" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:Java heap space

Jeff ™ 10. May 2008, 21:43

@ el_rocie - type in opera:config in the address bar and scroll down to user preferences and find smooth scrolling and click it to turn it on and click save.
Then restart.

Pretty much my only complaint about the Opera betas on the Mac is the scrolling. It is simply too sensitive and way too "fast." For example, currently I have smooth scrolling turn on in the preferences of OS X. If I set, for example, my mouse wheel speed to where I can scroll Safari in a nice manner, scrolling in Opera becomes way too fast and even scrolling by one notch in my mousewheel causes a paragraph or so of text to scroll past me.

Furthermore, the scrolling is also too sensitive because, for example, when I try to middle-click a link, the simple act of rocking the middle button on my mouse by not even a milimeter causes the page to scroll, causing me to miss clicking on the link.
