Since childhood, have you heard regarding the word “Catholic”? Perhaps this word is no longer modern to you. You're may be informed about this word a long time ago. And may be, you might be even educated on the subject of this term. But, there are still others who do not know very well what this word indicates. So much for that, Catholic literally indicates “universal”.
On the contrary before anything, let’s first recognize where this word came from. When we trace history, we'll identify that it had been primarily used to describe the Religious Church in the early 2nd century. It's to emphasize its widespread scope.
When we utter Christians, they are individuals who believe and follow Christ. However, they're people who are divided yet still united of their belief. What I mean divided is that, they actually have diverse denominations. As well as the Catholic Church is just another denomination within Christianity.
The Catholic Church in fact has many followers, from the east to the west. They're all over the place. With approximately billions of people who are already baptized as Catholic. I could never know, maybe you are also one of them.
In today’s terms, the Catholic Church also refers to the institutional church, the one that recognizes the pope as its head based on one of my readings. They have beliefs and practices that are different from others. Still, they have this strong conviction that what they are in the truth.
Based on one of my resources, the early Catholics were actually artistic. There was a multitude of artistic expressions of Catholicism. But, we could no longer trace it in the present day regardless that it really existed. There are actually explanation why these arts have not survived. Many catholic goods are still in the world today.
Quite the opposite, whatever reason they really have, we can still see we now have religious goods that are around us these days. Like for an instance the bible. You may be familiar with this one. Even the rosary, no wonder you by now noticed regarding this and how this thing is being employ.
