Mathtunnel

There are a lot of software for proxy usage, but there are few sites that can do the same work, for example at college, i cant access some sites, because all internal traffic passes by a proxy and a traffic shaper of college. When i need to access those sites, and since i dislike to be not be allowed to go to some sites, i found this great site, mathtunnel , it forward through their server a connection from a forbidden site, to your pc. This way, you can access most of the sites that are blocked by the proxy.

Outpost Firewall

One of Outpost Firewall Pro’s unique features is the ability to block not only banners and ads, but images too. You can block images by size (if your favorite website has one troubling image, this is a good way to block it). If you want to make sure your children don’t view any pornographic images, you can block all images instead. While this setting didn’t block every image, it did block most of them.Another add-on filter feature Outpost Firewall Pro offers is the ability to block by content. You can create a list of words or even website names you’d like to block. This blocked word/website list will help ensure that members of your family can’t gain access to sites containing words you find offensive, in context.

Some other firewall software programs have similar abilities to block content; however, they fail to let you protect those settings with a password, making it easy for someone to change your blocking criteria.

Lost - I do

Just finished watching the last episode of Lost before the 90 days break, it was quite good, Jack is doing good, i think they're on the same island, they will release Kate and Sawyer, and Ben will be ok, but im wondering, what was that smoke who killed mr. Eco. Do you guys have any opinion about it? How do the others know everything about the survivors. Why are they on island, whats darma project? who are the others, etc.
I guess i'll have to wait 90 long days, and i hope that Lost doesnt end so soon, because its the best serie i have ever saw.

BugMeNot

Sometimes to have access to a site or a forum, you have to answer 700 questions, when you finally are able to enter, you find out that the site/forum is just crap, plus if you are (un)lucky enough they will spam your mail till the limit.
That why this site is very usefull, you can paste the URL of the site, and you can have user/pass of the wanted site.

If you are an Opera user, you can download a cool widget that does the work, here.
If you arent a Opera user, then you can look at their site, here.

Get paid to search!

zotspot - get paid to search
Found this site today, its a search engine that pays you just to search in it, you should be asking why they make it. Seems they wanna beat google, so they have to attract people, and which idea better than give money for using it?
In my opinion its a very acceptable search engine, plus they pay you for using it, i think that it worth a try, literally

If you wanna check it for yourself here's the link.

YouTube - Saving Movies

It was annoying me, i watched a clip, wanted to save it, but no save button, so if you have the same problem, theres some solutions for that.

*If you have Opera, theres a very fast way, a simple widget that does the work, here.
After downloading the movie you may have to change his extension, change it to .flv
After changing the extension, you have to get a flv player, you can get Vlc player - Very nice one, can play partial movies, and almost all types of multimedia files. Or you may want a player just for flash videos, then u can get Riva FLV Player

*If you dont have Opera, you can find some webpages that does the same work, i found some of them, but the one i really like is this one, it lets you download flash clips from a lot of sites, like youtube, googlevideo, ifilm, etc. After you save the clips in your pc, just play them with Vlc, or Riva players.

The Swiss Army Knife Of Overclocking

For those of you have have a notebook, you all know the trouble with the cpu overheat, bad cooling, when playing games cpu almost goes off the scale, etc. If you dont want to waste money buying some hardware or some other kind of cool the cpu, here's the solution.
I found, a time ago two great programs that doensnt require much configuration, and they do the job very effectivly.
They are Cpuidle and Cpu eat 'n' cool.
If you want an almost full control over your cpu, i would say get eat'n'cool, pick cpuidle
Also cpu eat'n'cool is freeware, made by Stefano Ciccarelli.

CpuIdle is a CPU cooling and power management software.
CPU cooling will help you achieve these things:

  • decrease CPU temperature
  • enhance stability
  • enable overclocking (overclocking increases temperature- CpuIdle gives additional headroom)
  • increase CPU life (a decrease by 10°C doubles the life span)
  • cut power consumption

CPU eat'n'cool description:
Every modern CPU supports the HLT instruction (opcode F4) that instruct the CPU to enter a stand-by state. Windows operating systems based on NT (like NT 4.0, 2000, XP) calls this instruction during the idle time. But sometimes could be useful to execute this instruction when the CPU is heavy busy, for example when you are playing a game. For example I have a notebook, and when the room's temperature is over 25°C I cannot play a game because the interal case temperature quickly goes over 75°C and the computer powers off itself. I cannot modify the hardware cooling systems of my notebook so I decided to write this program.
CPU Eat 'n' Cool (CpuEnC) 'eat' some CPU power to execute the HLT instruction. Your games or your applications will be a little slower while CpuEnC is active but your CPU will be surely cooler.
