something to say....

A question..

It was always a bugbear of mine, but I had held some forlorn hope that by making it illegal, people might stop doing it! A little naive perhaps, given that, unless the world has gone totally insane, there are quite a few crimes which have been illegal since before my lifetime, yet they so no sign of abating, so what made me think people would stop using their mobile's whilst driving?

Everything changes.Random travel things...

People are going to talk on their phones while driving regardless of the laws. I've heard statics that people playing with the car radio, or doing other things while driving causes more accidents than talking on the mobile while driving. But car radios have not been outlawed.

People always blame the latest trends for their problems. Video games, mobile phones, rock n roll, comic books. People do a lot of stupid things in their cars, a woman in france killed someone when feeding her tamagotchi toy while driving.

That said, all phones tend to make the participants 'zone out' as they concentrate on the call. Mobile phones ARE more dangerous than other in-car toys, IMO, and they should stay illegal.

The problem now is acceptance - too many people consider using a mobile in a car to be a 'harmless crime'. =(
