Summary :
Tulsiram lives in a village with his wife and a step brother Shankar. His other step brother lives in Bombay and is an advocate. Shankar is an uneducated boy. When Rajaram returns back to his village, Tulsiram is upset to find that he has already married as Tulsiram has promised Thakur Narayandas to marry Rajaram to his daughter Bindiya. Tulsiram plans to have Shankar get married to Bindiya, but Thakur is not ready to this. He asks Tulsiram to get Rajaram married to Bindiya or he will take over his land and house which are under debt with him.
