One Mark of True Love

An incident i've observed about my mother set me thinking.
Over the years, i've observed how whenever my dad is returning home from a trip, my mum goes to so much trouble to set things right. So much so that, she weeds(i think she's too old to be doing that), washes(already already clean utensils. she insists she's only cleaning dust on them), endless sweeping(which often leaves her with back aches and pains) scrubbing, and a host of other chores.
A lot of those times, i've complained that she's giving herself too much trouble with what i deemed to be so much ado about nothing. But i've come to realize that, it's really out of love for her husband that she does these things.
This brings to mind a verse from scripture. "And everyone who really believes this will try to stay pure because Christ is pure." 1Joh 3:3TLB
This verse is in regard to those anticipating the coming of Christ. It teaches that those who are truly anticipating his return will stay pure.
Of course, my analogy here fails because unlike my father, the date and time of the second coming of Christ is unknown but the upshot of this post is that, if we truly love God and are anticipating the coming of our beloved Lord and Savior, then we will purify ourselves.
That is one mark to test one's self whether one is really anticipating the coming of our beloved Lord. Test yourself!
