The first of April of 2009 Opera made an April Joke on YouTube with the "face gestures" video (see below). The date of the posting and the unbelievable subject didn't ring any bell to some journalists, who believed such a feature was being developed and reported about that.

A few days ago the Opera homepage sported a fake email client of company co-founder Jon S. von Tetzchner to celebrate 150 millions of Opera users worldwide. Well, there are "innocents" out there that believed that it was his real mailbox, and other that draw on these people's writings and reported the same thing...

It's funny how people report their own unverified hypotheses as news, and how others believe them without any sanity check. It's even funnier, if you think that it was probably enough to contact our PRs to find out the real thing.
