Presbyterian Church Service - Special Observance

, , , , , ,

Since different lutheran church services vary, a brief description is as follows; The Great Thanksgiving is recited by the pastor, an assistant, and several "helpers". The "Words of Institution" are then given and bread is broken. The people will be invited by pews up front where a cup of wine can be taken while kneeling at the communion rail on the side that they are seated. After receiving the bread and wine, they are then to return to their seats along the outside wall of the sanctuary. The blessing over the bread and wine will be given after everyone has partaken. Finally, "Post Communion Canticle" is sung followed by another prayer and a blessing. The pastor will then dismiss the congregation, a sending song is sung then post-service music is played as the congregation exits the Lutheran Church service and is greeted by the pastor.

Many people who regularly attend church service at their local church do not realize quite what benefits and positive effects other than religious fulfillment they are reaping from it. Those who rarely or never go to church service because they choose to worship at home could be reaping many more benefits than they realize as well. There are many positive effects of going to church, including a sense of relaxation, belonging, and convenient networking.

Relaxing

Studies have shown from all over the United States that attending church service on a regular basis can be a relaxing experience for those who are attending. The hymns that are often sang at church have been known to have a relaxing tone to them, so reading, singing and playing them can transfer the relaxation on. Also, being at church and not having to worry about anything outside of the walls of the church while you listen to a sermon and worship in the way that you see fit can be a very relaxing and therapeutic thing.

Belonging

The family that the several members of a church usually come together to make can be a sense of belonging when there really is no other sense of that in your life. This is especially true for elderly people who have limited blood family and friends, and those who just need a little bit more closeness in their lives. Church service attendance brings about a sense of belonging to a group or a family that is very much desired in life by everyone.

Networking

This positive effect may seem a little out of left field, but along with that sense of community and family that church service can bring comes a sort of networking. For instance, the leader of a local dojo may attend your church and as a result your children start karate, teaching them discipline and healthy activity. Or you could go to church with co-workers and be able to support each other throughout spiritual needs and career needs as well. This is one of the little thought-of positive effects of church service.

Presbyterian, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran. All of these faith based religious denominations are very much alike yet there are some differences that you will notice. Many of these differences are slight but you will be aware of them because they are present in the many worship services that occur each week. long island churches
