In this gold farming guide, I will reveal the best locations to farm for gold, depending on how high your character level is.

Many players mistakenly believe that gold farming is an activity reserved for high level characters. This is simply not true. Many low level characters are in need of gold to upgrade gear, and often do not have high level characters that can send them gold since they are new to the game, or playing on a new server. For these players, gold farming is important at low levels, and can play a serious role in the success of their character.

Below is a list of some of the top locations for gold farming.

Levels 12 - 20

Westfall - Coordinates: 32, 33 - Target the Defias Trappers here. They drop linen cloth and respawn as fast as you can kill them. Sell the cloth at auction houses. Depending on the server you can get as much as 1g per stack.

Skinning, Mining, and Herbalism - Until your character reaches higher levels, these professions will net you some good gold, so consider picking them up even if they don't initially make sense for your character. If you want to change professions, you can always do that later.Whenever you want extra gold, devote an hour to plow through Elwynn Forest, and you should be able to gather enough herbs or mine enough gold to make some nice gold at the auction houses.

Character Levels 40 - 60

Stranglethorn Vale - Coordinates: Around 44, 45 - Crystalvein Mines is a good place to kill mobs and sell their drops to vendors.

Tanaris - Coordinates: Around 72, 44 - Head over to Lost Rigger Cove, kill the pirates there for silk and mageweave.

Player Levels 60 - 80

Winterspring - Coordinates: Around 52, 43 - Target the mobs around the lake. The drops are generally good and they also drop a good amount of silver.

Felwood - Coordinates: 41, 20 - Jadefire Run has plenty of mobs, and most of them drop runecloth, which gets a good price at the auction houses.

Eastern Plaguelands - Coordinates: 28, 85 - Mossflayer Zombies are what you should target here. They die pretty quickly, and drop a good amount of runecloth.
