The Biggest And Baddest Transformers

The Transformers series has a lot of potential to show enormous robots fighting each other and it often delivers. Like Godzilla stories fans are always waiting for the next royal dust up. It was rumoured that for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen Michael Bay wanted to film an aircraft carrier transforming into a robot and there is some concept art of it floating around on the internet. This never happened but we do see one get blown up by the Decepticons. This would have undoubtedly been quite awesome indeed. I think if they could have thought of an autobot big enough to fight it that would have been even better. Metroplex could take it on no problem. He's a city that transforms and very popular with fans so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an appearance in the fourth movie.
But what about stories that have so far come to pass in Transformers lore. In the fantastic Dreamwave series of comics that came out back in 2001 there was a brilliant scene of a G1 Devastator attacking an american city. Optimus Prime takes him out with a shot to the face David and Goliath style. The only huge Transformer we've seen in the movies so far is Devastator but he was a bit of a dissapointment and never really fought any of the Autobots aside from the twins. The next movie could centre on the control over massive bots. Having the Autobots and Decepticons both vying for the bots allegiance would be pretty cool.
Combiner robots are also a very cool way forward. Hasbro should give that the go ahead too as they would need to sell more toys for fans to make up the big bots. Superion from the Autobots would be a welcome addition. The five jets that combine to make Superion could take on some Decepticon seeker jets in a battle royale on the moon.
If we're talking about giant robots the one and only Unicron deserves a mention. Unicron was introduced in the 1985 animated Transformers movie and has been a fan favourite ever since. He is a moon sized evil robot who eats planets. Some combiners could possibly take him on or like in the 1985 movie there could be a battle within him. Or how about a transforming Cybertron versus Unicron. You don't get any bigger than that. The danger with making the robots even bigger is that it is possible to lose the ability to relate to the action. But then that's a risk I would be willing to take.
