The Opera MathML blog...

This is a place where we can post short notes. Most of the serious stuff will be in the Dev.Opera.com site, on labs.opera.com or in someone else's blog, so this could turn into a bit of a link collection. But it allows us to note little things that aren't worth a real article, and gather feedback on less solid ideas...

Opera 9.5 released

Opera 9.5 was released today and can be downloaded from http://www.opera.com.

MathML stylesheet is enabled by default (location is configurable from opera:config#UserPrefs|MathMLCSSFile).

Currently Opera supports MathML for CSS profile with the following exceptions:

1. White space characters between token elements (mi, mn, mo, ms, mspace, mtext) are not discarded
2. radicals and some fences do not inherit text color from document
3. class and style attributes are not supported
4. maction element is not keybord accessible

MathML in Opera 9.5

MathML enabled weekly Kestrel build is available for testing. It has experimental support for MathML Basic (MathML for CSS profile).

To illustrate what can be done with MathML Basic there are some examples such as torture, stress tests and some of my articles converted to MathML.

Feedback and bug reports can be posted on MathML forum (for bugs reports you can also use bug tracking system, before reporting make sure that problematic formulae comply to latest working draft of MathML for CSS profile as we support only that profile at the moment).
