From the time my kids started to talk, I worked very carefully with them on pronunciation. If they mispronounced a word, I would slowly enunciate it and then have them repeat each syllable after me.
One day I was in the grocery store with my three-year-old son. As we were entering the pasta aisle, he apparently decided he could teach ME something. He looked up at me and said,
"Mom, can you say buhhh-sskett-teee?"
I thought the woman at the other end of the aisle was going to pee her pants.
