Opera Mini Seminar "One World in your Hand", Gunadarma University - Indonesia

Our mission an this event was to tell the participants how to maintain mobility in everything they do and everywhere they are, of course by using Opera Mini...yes

And the show began, with more than 280 participants coming to the seminar... just like you can see in this picture.

Participants listened to the speakers very carefully. Although the air conditioner did not work and the sound system not too good, they still concentrated on the topics..

Mr. Risanto Darmawan spoke about Google Expert, Mega Wahyu talked about Web Standard, and I spoke about Opera Mini.

And after the speakers session, it was time to give some merchandise to participants who had received a "lucky feedback form" (the OCC wrote O P E R A on the back of 5 feedback forms to determine the winners).

The show continued with Door Prize session and we asked some questions to the participants, with those who answered it correctly receiving merchandise. In the left picture, there are 3 participants who received an Opera ball as a door prize, and we installed Opera desktop and Mini on their devices (laptops and mobile phones).

Then, we continued our job with spreading Opera Mini comics, which show real-life situations where Opera Mini comes in handy, as well as information about how to use it.

Summary from the feedback form

About this seminar

What do you think about Opera Mini?

Did you know about Opera Mini before? Did you already use it? What version?

value in #person
What web browser do you currently use? (eg. Opera, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc)

Although most participants currently use other browsers in their desktop, they had at least installed the Opera browser, and were using Opera Mini too. We hope after this seminar, they will use more Opera products in their daily activities.

Spreading the word of OPERA, OCC in National TV Show : OPERA van JAVA

Java (Indonesian: Jawa) itself (wikipedia.org) is an island of Indonesia and the site of its capital city, Jakarta. Once the centre of powerful Hindu kingdoms, Islamic sultanates, and the core of the colonial Dutch East Indies, Java now plays a dominant role in the economic and political life of Indonesia. Home to a population of 130 million in 2006[1], it is the most populous island in the world, ahead of Honshū, the main island of Japan. Java is also one of the most densely populated regions on Earth. If the island were a country, it would be the tenth most populous in the world, just ahead of Japan.
Formed mostly as the result of volcanic events, Java is the 13th largest island in the world and the fifth largest island in Indonesia. A chain of volcanic mountains forms an east-west spine along the island. It has three main languages, though Javanese is dominant and is the native language of 60 million people in Indonesia, most of whom live on Java. Most residents are bilingual, with Indonesian as their second language. While the majority of Javanese are Muslim, Java has a diverse mixture of religious beliefs and cultures. The name then taken by SUN Microsystem as their platform name.

The Semester Ahead
This has been our first whole semester of Campus Crew activity after we began the program in October, and it has been great to see an increase since last semester in the number of members we recognise as most active. In the semester ahead we hope to see activity increase again, so it will be tougher to select the most active members as the stakes get higher! cool It may well be that you need to run two events rather than just one to gain Bronze-level status.

Thank you again to everyone who was involved in these activities, and all members of our amazing Opera Campus Crew for their contributions! We look forward to the semester ahead!

Opera Campus Crew Indonesia (UI,UNKRIS,UG) Meets-Up

As initiated by Risanto Darmawan from Krisnadwipayana University. We arranged a meet up for discussing our plan for the next semester ahead. It has been a while since Zara announced the most active Opera Campus Crews. At first we planned to gather Opera Campus Crews from Jabodetabek regions in STMIK-NURI and meet Opera Campus Crews from NURI unfortunately we had to change the place for meeting since NURI was not available at that moment.

Then, i had a chat in Facebook with Yere (OCC from Gunadarma University). Occasionaly, i thought that there is a good place in my campus (University of Indonesia) for arranging a meeting then i proposed the place to Yere and he brought it to the forum. Yere contacted other members from Gunadarma University and Mr. Risanto Darmawan while i contacted my OCC friends from University of Indonesia.

As planned for first August in this year, we met up under the leafy tree which hid us from direct sunlight in the periphery of one UI's artificial lake called Danau/Situ(lake) or for short Danau UI. It had been 3 p.m and there were Oscar and Iqbal from UI; Yere, Mega, Yogi from UG; Mr. Risanto from Unkris.

The agenda for our meet-up are discussing about what event that we can do for the next semester (joint program) and anything related to OCC.

Now, it is time for sharing our moment party wizard simsalabim...
