The Christmas Spirit

Last week we had an awful lot of snowy days. I didn't mind, really. I enjoyed getting outside to shovel the snow and get some fresh air. But one night in particular we had an awful lot of snow dumped on us. Again, I didn't mind getting out to shovel it, but once I got into it a little, I realized the intensity of the task that lay before me. As is normal with heavy snowfall, I had to shovel each spot two or three times to clear the deep snow away from the driveway. Which amounted to the above picture. Again, no complaining. Good exercise. Muscles burning. Feeling good. But I'll confess that when I headed over to begin shoveling our sidewalks, I felt greatly humbled.
Our neighbors to the left had snow-blowed the sidewalk in front of our house without me asking them to. And our neighbors behind us had snow-blowed the sidewalk on the side of our house without me asking them to. Can you believe it? Is that "Minnesota Nice", or what? And please note, this act of service was done before 7:00 in the morning, because I never saw them out my window in action.
As soon as we can save enough to buy one, this will be me behind our own snowblower. Watch out. I'm going to repay these good deeds by snowblowing our entire neighborhood.

Not much snow in MI yet, mostly cold (below freezing) and icy.
Let us know when you breakdown for the snowmobile, and we will come and visit!

Such nice neighbors! I like shoveling snow too, but we got a snowblower this year. It certainly helps when the snow is a foot and a half deep. And I apologize, I sent out our Cmas cards yesterday and realized I spelled your last name with only one L. My bad.

Sometimes I wish for some snow to shovel for that good fresh air and winter exercise idea...hmmmm. For now I am happy paying my landlord to do it! Your driveway looks great! I can't wait until you get a snowblower...I'll come take a photo of you in action! Meanwhile, enjoy those nice neighbors!

I love Minnesota, and the Minnesota nice people!
Now, loving your neighbors takes on an entirely new meaning.
How very kind. What are you going to do in return????

Snow blowers there are a necessity!!! I am almost to the "I miss snow" stage, but not quite.

Heard an interesting comment on the news the other night. If you have a driveway that is 10' wide and 45' long and you shovel 8" of snow, then you have shoveled 2000 lbs. of snow. (Now you have something new to do when Jonathan is gone at night ~ figure out how many pounds of snow you have shoveled. :0)
Love you,
