"Skip to ..." links for handled devices

,

Today it was the first time i opened the Opera Community website with the mobile browser - the new beta 2 of Opera Mini.

Everything is just great with the browser. It's fast, comfortable and beautiful. And i think it's gonna be the default browser for most of the devices.

Now it's time for the support from the web developers. And i'm glad Opera Community website is mobile-friendly... Except of one thing i think would be very useful for all of it's mobile users. I'm talking about the various 'skip to...' links at the top of the page.

For example, from such a simple as 'skip to content' to more specific: 'skip to comments' etc. By the way, clicking on the Comments [#] link on the main blog page won't push you to the comments actually... Why?

Besides it's too easy to implement...

Wacom Tablet and Opera

With the use of the Opera Mouse Gestures and Wacom Intuos3 Tablet surfing the web is turning into the real art!

It's great to settle back in the chair, put that thing on your knees and... just draw the Web! Very and very handy actually...

Opera Vector Logo [EPS]

I like the image from the "Where's Opera" competition:

It looks great as for me! It's glassy, it's fresh and IT'S NEW! But... It's raster nnd thus it can't give me the flexibility I want :frown:

And I've decided to trace it and here's what I get:

This is a screenshot of 200% scaled images. At the left — vector I've traced and at the right - original image.

Here you can see the advantages of the vector format at this case.
You can download the source file in EPS format (Encapsulated PostScript) right from here.

WARNING! It's not the clipart! To use it you must first ask the author!

Opera Widgets... D'you using them?

,

Till today I was never used Opera Widgets. I can't find the one i'd like... Tried to play with the SimAquarium Widget, but it has slowed my workstation...

And today morning I was reading fresh feeds and stopped at the one by Opera Watch. It was 5 security widgets for the Opera browser. And... that title interested me! Security widget? =-O What is it, actually?

I followed the link and... haven't liked any of them. They are great, but I can't imagine the situation where to use any of them.

After that I wanted to mark feed message as "Read", but stumbled at the next link: most useful Opera Widgets. As previous one was not useful for me, I thought that here I could find something that could be quiet handy...

And I've found! *YAHOO* One, actually :-[ but now that widget is marked to be "Always on top" of other windows and positioned on the up right corner of my second display. The widget is called Latest del.icio.us bookmarks and it's very handy (if you using del.icio.us of course! )
