Right after painting
my entry for the Opera Fan-Art competition, I often hear phrases like: "This is just a poor clipart collage!", "This guy just made a mix of someone's photos!" or "Ha! I can draw something like this, just gimme more cliparts!"... Well, to those of you who loves to add a word 'clipart' to any collage: THERE'S NO ANY CLIPART IN IT AT ALL! So, calm down!

I've used pieces of photos of friend of mine. He visited States last year. Everything's legal

Don't worry.
And most of such words are from the Russian and Ukrainian people. It's weird, actually: two guys from Ukraine took the prize places (1st and 3rd) in that competition! Why not just to be proud of your country? I think it's our mentallity. Very pity of that...
The other point — using photos in your work is not painting? Well, it is true FOR MOST TECHNIQUES and SCHOOLS. But things are different in digital painting, especially when it comes to
matte painting. I've used techniques of
Dylan Cole — one of the greatest digital artist nowadays. Just take a look at his works there. Amazing! Especially when you can see what it was painted from.
As for my work. Yes, I agree — it's just an ordinary painting. I didn't even want it to be something amazing! Cause I don't have enough experience now for doing things like Dylan Cole. Not even close! But, as for my first work of this kind, I think it's ok. I like it. And many people like it too... Yes, maybe there's no idea in it for someone. Maybe it's too blurry for someone. Maybe it's even piece of crap to someone... If it's all what you're gonna say — please, try not to say anything...

Really. But if you have
constructive critics — you're welcome, dude

! I love constructive (!) critics! Just love it!! It makes you see your mistakes, see what other peoples want to see and etc. It's #1 to do better things. To progress in your work. To gain experience. To have a good conversation and good mood...
P.S.: Thank you for your comments and especially to Espen for that contest

. He made me to throw all the code I was worked on away and to start painting. Hope I'll find time for my future works in that sphere.
