Food Hero - Rick Stein

As a Chinese and a cooking lover (that's why you can find many food photos on my dreamstime portfolio) I dont really watch too much weatern cooking TV shows, it's not like i'm against western food or anything, i just feel that the techiques i learn from the show would not be used very much as i think it's diffcult to find the ingredients.
But there is a exception for everything, i really enjoyed Rick Stein's cooking show when i first discovered it on BBC FOOD, i think he just has this kind of quality that attracted my attention.
what do I like about his cooking show?
first of all, I like his accent this might sounds strange to some because it had nothing to do with cooking! i simply found british accent is quite difficult to listen to and understand, but i found Rick's accent is very interesting and funny and at the same time understand everything he talks about.
another thing i like about Rick Stein's show is that he's not only talking about food on his show, there is much more cultural subjects were discussed or mentioned through his show, i particularly like the episode when the Japanese embassdor invited Rick to Japan to learn about Japanese food then cooked for him and his guests back in Britain. i think the whole episode is more about Japanese culture than Japanese food.
the third thing i like about the show is the simplicity, i found most of his dishes are not so complicated like another young chefs, He really knows how to handle the freshness, taste and presentation with the least amount of techique and cooking process.
at last, i have to say that i like the beautiful scenery the camera man brings to us, it made me want to have the passion to want to travel with them to see all these wonderful places.
