LOVE
Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.
An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.
There is so much frustration in the world because we have relied on gods rather than God.
We have genuflected before the god of science only to find that it has given us the
atomic bomb, producing fears and anxieties that science can never mitigate.
We have worshipped the god of pleasure
only to discover that thrills play out, and sensations are short-lived.
We have bowed before the god of money only to learn that there are
such things as love and friendship that money cannot buy and that in a world of
possible depressions, stock market crashes and bad business investments,
money is a rather uncertain deity.
These transitory gods are not able to bring happiness to the human heart, only God is able.
It is faith in Him that we must rediscover.
We must work passionately and indefatigable
to bridge the gulf between our scientific progress and our moral progress.
One of the great problems of man kind is we suffer from a poverty of the spirit which stands in glaring contrast to scientific and technological abundance.
The richer we have become materially the poorer we have become morally and spiritually.
Every man lives in two realms, the internal and the external.
The internal is that realm of spiritual ends expressed in art literature morals and religion. The external is that complex of devices, techniques mechanisms
and instrumentalities by means of which we live.
Our problem today is that we have allowed the internal to become lost in the external,
we have allowed the means by which we live to outdistance the ends for which we live.
I've decided that I'm going to do battle for my philosophy.
You ought to believe something in life,
believe that thing so fervently,
that you will stand up with it till the end of your days.
I can't make myself believe that God wants me to hate.
I'm tired of violence.
And I'm not going to let my oppressor dictate to me what method I must use.
We have a power, power that can't be found in Molotov cocktails, but we do have a power.
Power that cannot be found in bullets and guns, but we have a power.
It is a power as old as the insights of Jesus of Nazareth
and as modern as the techniques of Mahatma Gandhi.
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable.
Even a superficial look at history social advance rolls in on the wheels of inevitability.
Every step towards the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering and struggle;
the tireless exertions and passionate concerns of dedicated individuals.
Without persistent effort, time itself becomes an ally of the insurgent and primitive forces of irrational emotionalism and social destruction.
This is no time for apathy or complacency.
This is a time for vigorous and positive action."
Martin Luther King

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave
with the intention of arriving safely
in an attractive and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
Beer in one hand - strawberries in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming
WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE !

TRUTHS ABOUT FEAR...
* FEAR WILL NEVER GO AWAY IF YOU CONTINUE TO GROW AS A PERSON.
* FOR FEAR TO GO, YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING
(Doing comes before the fear goes)
* SELF CONFIDENCE GROWS FROM DOING
(Doing comes before feeling better about yourself)
* EVERYONE ELSE IS EXPERIENCING FEAR

Rules For Being Human
1. You will receive a body.
You may either like or hate it,
but it will be yours for the entire period this time round.
2. You will learn lessons.
You are enrolled in the ftill time informal school called life. Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.
3. There are no mistakes only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately work.
4. A lesson is repeated until it is learned.
A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learnt it. When you have learned it you can then go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons do not end.
No part of life does not contain it's lesson. If you are alive there are lessons to be learnt.
6. "There" is no better than "here".
When your "there" has become "here", you will simply obtain another "there" which again will look better than "here".
7. Others are merely mirrors of you.
You cannot love or hate something about another unless it reflects something to you that you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. The answers lie within you.
The answer's to all life's questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.
10. YOU WILL FORGET ALL THIS.

Going with the flow
Throughout our lives we have a tendency to become obsessed
by the relentless pursuit of material things,
houses, cars, clothes, furniture, boats, toys and trinkets.
The more we HAVE,
the more we want.
The more we WANT,
the more we get . .
The more we GET,
the more we WEIGH OURSELVES DOWN.
The end result to all this acquisition is that if and when the crunch comes, we suddenly find ourselves buried under a mountain of possessions, most of which we have little or no use for.
A wise old pundit once said that
if we own any more than 100 items in our lives, it is too much.
Ascertain what you really need to survive in this world and get rid of the rest.
Advertise them, have a garage sale, give them to friends or charity.
The more fluid you become, the easier you will be able to move through life.
To circumnavigate the problems.
And to be free.
