i think they're right when they say that the real artists here in the US don't get the right amount of airtime. it's only my fifth day here and i hear the playlist on a popular radio station. it's a cartel out there where the songs that goes mainstream are those that are owned by big recording studios who pay for airtime. so i really get bothered when i hear Paparazzi for 3 times in just one car ride or some other songs by popular artists who bought in their way to radio airplay. i kinda miss listening to songs that are not really popular but has an awesome riff or just that defining beat. there are definitely more artists out there deserving of much longer airplay than the songs that rotate on a 30 minute playlist and go on repeat for the whole day.
