Why did I select you as a friend?

Many people have asked me why if you dont know me, did you add me as a friend?

One must define what a friend is.

Aristotle said "What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies".

Well I may not know many of the people I choose as a friend. Then the question asked is how many of your friends have you known your whole life. So I ask of you to pick a friend and think when did you not know that person. That is how friends start. We sometimes pick people we have common interest in to be our friend. At times our friends were once our enemies, someone we bumped into in the elevator, someone we met at a party and decided to say whats up to, or just a new neighbor. We even find friends at work, people if seen on the street or out we would not say hello to.

So to answer that question.. I picked you because you belong to a social networking site. People have always social networked but the Internet has opened up a whole new way of doing it globally. I have met many people online and a few I met in person. I may never meet you in person but perhaps, one day. Social networking sites is a way to socialize, yes it is somewhat impersonal but atleast it is a start.

So for you that think I have nothing in common with you and wish to reject or remove me, please do. I will not be hurt or torn. For those of you that are keeping me, thank you. This may very well be a start of a new friendship..
