Autumn Gold

How beautiful is this years autumn colours, i don't recall an autumn like it where the trees of all types have retained their leaves and turned golden colours. Maybe it's due to climate change or the rather dry summer we had this year but the fact is its stunning. Travelling to work each day takes about 25 minutes passing through the Lincolnshire countryside sometimes by the lesser B roads depending on which route i've decided to take. There's about 3 different routes that are available for me to get to and from work and each has its own advantages when it comes to viewing the countryside. Some of the most stunning array of colours can be seen in the 'set-aside' wildlife habitats that have been created by local farmers under an UK Agriculture Initiative. They consist of a plot of land that have been planted with various species of trees and shrubs to create a wildlife sanctuary along with the hedgerows that have been replanted thus creating corridors for wildlife to move along.
One indication in hindsight i suppose was the amount of blossom in spring this year, another beautiful spectacle of nature. Sadly i didn't carry my camera with me for that part of the year and the few photos i did manage to take didn't due justice to the true scenery.
I also recall last winter being like the traditional winters of my youth, long spells of minus degree weather with times of snow and ice, it felt has if the seasons had begun to kick back into the 'old' routine. What ever the underlying cause/reason for such a beautiful display of nature this year, may it continue.
Sadly, theres some strong winds and rain forecast for the next few days so i'm guessing its the end of this years autumn display of golden leaves, at least the ones on the trees anyhow.
Nature.
