DuPont Corian, in collaboration with Ernestomeda and Scholtès, have set up a futuristic kitchen designed by Zaha Hadid made from solid Corian surfaces.
Setsu & Shinobu Ito experiment with new techniques of working and decorating with Corian applied to interiors and lighting: a chair, a sofa-bench that can be configured in different ways and a series of lamps that bring out the luminous qualities of Corian.

Made entirely from silver, a series of luxurious and elegant objects designed by students from ECAL, the Ecole Cantonale d’Art in Lausanne, the results of a workshop with French designer Pierre Charpin.
Objects that are also endowed with a sense of humour and a touch of poetry, such as the condom holder – completely in silver – proposed by Erik de Laurens: immaculate forms and materials for an unconventional function. Or the ‘highly precious’ travel sewing kit designed by Barbara Bona or the elegant handbag mirror by Maria Jeglinska.
After the Furniture Fair, some of the objects will go to make up part of a special industrial edition on sale at the Christofle shops. The aim of the French maison is to distance the brand from its traditional image, setting to one side the art of the table. E.S.

We live in a dangerous world. What is more, every day, poverty and violence enter our homes via television. If we thought about it all the time, we just wouldn’t escape unharmed. These are the issues that Droog has taken on board this year. So what’s in store at the Furniture Fair? Absolute relaxation in a garden of delights, warm and comfortable covers to wrap up in and music to listen to in absolute tranquillity. Knowing this Dutch group though, it probably doesn’t end there and we can be certain that the installation will not be without some surprises. uorisalone.it, Poli.design and Zona Tortona have launched a competition titled Surviving Fuorisalone for the creation of a survival kit for the Fuorisalone in Milan. Open to students, architects, designers and artists of every age and nationality, this competition aims at developing a project, an idea or a service that is able to support and facilitate the activities that will be held during the design week. The most interesting projects will be implemented and will become part of the survival kit. They will be exhibited in one of the spaces of Zona Tortona during the week from 5th to 10th April, when the Furniture Exhibition will take place in Milan. The projects should be sent

Fuorisalone.it, Poli.design e Zona Tortona hanno bandito il concorso Surviving Fuorisalone per la creazione di un kit di sopravvivenza al Fuorisalone di Milano. Aperto a studenti, architetti, designer e artististi di ogni età e nazionalità, il concorso ha come fine la creazione di un progetto, di un'idea o di un servizio che sostenga e faciliti la fruizione della settimana del design. Le proposte più interessanti saranno realizzate e andranno a costituire il kit di sopravvivenza e saranno esposte in uno degli spazi di Zona Tortona durante la settimana del Salone del Mobile, Milano dal 5 al 10 Aprile.
