Tomas Saraceno: Living In The Clouds

, , , ,

We left him [ Interview > Tomas Saraceno [Stefano Boeri and Hans Ulrich Obrist] ] with a radical proposal: “A network of cities floating in the clouds. Living capsules flying above nations and wars”. A few months later, Tomas Saraceno found the ideal setting for his provocation at Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia.

Here, 3,600 metres above the immaculate and dazzling shores of the world’s largest salt lake (surface area 12,000 square kilometres), the Argentine artist filmed his latest spectacular video installation, commissioned by the Barbican Gallery in London, which is presenting it to the public from 11 May (until 16 July).
