Hydrangea Coast - Shonan, Japan
Created on Thursday, 11. August 2011.
The first of the three albums containing the pictures I took in my trip to Japan I made in June.
Shonan means the southern coast because it's the coastal area south west of Tokyo. I grew up in a western suburb of Tokyo and Shonan was where you'd go as a kid for a family summer outing on beach or on a date when you're older. I had visited the area many times but never noticed how beautiful the hydrangeas were there.
This is also the first lot of photographs I took with my new camera, Olympus E-620. After having used the compact digitals for quite some time, the clarity and quality of the pictures taken by a digital SLR was simply a joy. I went overboard with my shutter finger and took 700+ shots in the first week.
