When you think of blond-haired people, you may tend to think that they must be Europeans or people originating from Europe. That is definitely wrong.

My grandfather had blue eyes and in my family history there was no ancestor who had been known to have a bit of European blood. Many Solomon Islanders in the south Pacific were born with blond hair with the sort of bright yellow colour that does not fear comparison with the Scandinavians or Germanic peoples in Europe.

It is proved beyond doubt that such Asian blue eyes and south Pacific blond hair are all results of homegrown genes, and have little to do with possible inter-marriage with Europeans. But some people still believe that the Asian blue eyes might have their genetic origins in the Greek and Roman soldiers who long ago marched into central Asia in the course of the expansion of the Greek Empire and Roman Empire.
