Very few paradises are left on Earth...but you do still find them in Greenland, Liechtenstein and Pitcairn Islands.
Writing in what was then the Spring and Autumn period in China thousands of years ago, a Chinese Taoist philosopher, Lao Tzi, once noted that we could find happiness by choosing to live in a small country with a small population. In case you are rich and are at a loss as to where such small countries are, here are a few suggestions -
1. Greenland -- The population of Greenland is just about 57,300 and such a small population inhabits an island the size of Western Europe. It is rich in oil deposits and centuries of Danish rule have transformed Greenlandic towns into miniature copies of their counterparts in Denmark. It has won self-government in 2009 and is scheduled to gain complete independence within the next decade or so.
To enter and settle permanently in Greenland, you need to deposit a sum of money in a Greenland bank as a sort of residence requirement.
Greenland is really part of Western Europe. It has all the comfort that you could only dream of elsewhere.
2.Liechtenstein --It is a country in Western Europe a bit smaller in size than Washington, D.C. of the United States. Its population is about 35,000. It is an industrialized financial hub -- in addition to being a tax haven. If you deposit your money there, you will be safe. It is nearly impossible to gain citizenship in this country, as immigrants are absorbed only to replace those Liechtensteiners who have died.
But if someday you hold a Greenland passport to enter Liechtenstein as an investor in this tax haven, you will enjoy luxuries in galore...literally heaven on earth.
3.Pitcairn Islands -- They are a group of small self-governing British islands in South Pacific with a population of less than 100. There with your Greenland passport in one pocket...and your Liechtenstein bank accounts cards in another...you sit under the warm south Pacific sun, go diving and boating and get a taste of what it is like to live like a Robinson Crusoe in the middle of nowhere ...how fantastic...how romantic...and how unbelievable.
