Google Maps Has Street View Feature

, ,

I really like Google Maps, I think it's a lot more accurate than MapQuest. I used to think that MapQuest was good until a friend of mine who often has no problem getting lost amazingly used MapQuest and got lost. The only reason was because the information was wrong.

Anyhow, if you're like me, sometimes when you're going to an area you're not sure about and would like to see photos of the area you're going. Google Maps now have that nifty little feature where you can do that. Just search a location a usual, then click on the "Street View" button. Click on the areas highlighted in blue and you'll see a pic, which you can zoom in/out, pan around. Arrows on the map allow you to go in that direction and show what's there while you're in street view mode.

So far it seems pretty good. The street view option is only available in major public cities such as Las Vegas, New York, San Francisco, and Miami. If other cities become available, you will see the street view button.

Here are some pics below.

San Francisco - Fisherman's Wharf

Las Vegas - Mandalay Bay

New York City - 34th Street, Herald Square, Macy's

Miami - Ocean Drive
