How to mine on minecraft 101 part 1 of many.
Mining on this game can be pretty easily done, it took me maybe a month to learn all the ins and outs to actually get the most for my mined ores to find more and not abuse/overuse all of my diamond pickaxe's on trying to find more diamonds. Yes, there is a little bit of irony there and you'll soon not be laughing over it once you start your first "real" mining trip in minecraft.
How to get started with mining!
First step first, lets get us some wood and if you have some cobble stone make your self a temporary pickaxe. You'll burn through maybe 1-2 cobblestone pickaxes before you actually find some iron ore and coal to make your first iron pickaxe. You'll also notice that ores tend to stick together in clumps of varying amounts. It's a little random how big you'll find each clump to be, as you mine more and more you'll see the pattern. The real place to get minecraft for free that my little cousin showed me the other night. I wish I could tell you guys exactly what the amounts are but you'll know soon enough.
Your first iron pickaxe, yay.
Your feeling pretty pumped with your very first iron pickaxe and you'll be mining in random area, don't do that. Go back up to the surface and be sure to go find yourself some more supplies. Such as food, wood, and tons of torches at least 1-2 stacks of sixty-four. Get your minecraft booty back down there and get back to mining and be sure to hit F3 every now and then to see at what Y level you are. Always be careful of hitting a pit of lava which can happen easily and really quickly then you realize. I did it all the time when I first played minecraft and started mining. Now by this time, you should have hit more iron (hopefully) and am smelting it into iron armour if you hit enough iron clumps. Also be sure to make 1-2 more iron pickaxes now that yours has broken or is near broken.
