PLEASE VOTE
Wednesday, 29. October 2008, 16:52:20
Next week we have our elections here in America. God knows we need change. I'm not sure Obama is it nor do I think McCain is up for the job...so what do we do? Who do we vote for.
I wish more Americans would seriously consider their choice. We have a tendency to vote for whoever our father, husband, friends....are voting for. That isn't a good reason to vote for a candidate.
With the internet we have the ability to really research our candidates.
We can go beyond what they say, beyond the propaganda their party puts out and find out what they've really done in the past.
I'm not talking about scandal and gossip mongering, although I really believe that is the reason why the truly qualified candidates won't run anymore.
I'm talking about voting records and stands on issues.
They can say they support anything popular once they're running for office, sometimes it's very interesting to find out what they've stood for or against in the past.
This country has major problems. We can no longer afford to save and support the world or at least not for a while. But our government, all of them including those running for president have no intentions of stopping the flow of billions and trillions of dollars to other nations, small and large.
It's like they've hung their own citizens out to dry in favor of the power mongering they're doing elsewhere in the world. This benefits nobody but themselves and the corporate interests they represent. It certainly doesn't benefit the American people.
We have an epidemic of joblessness, the jobs that are available are overwhelmingly so low paying they leave the employee on poverty level. We have unaffordable housing and that is no longer affecting just the poor but the middle class too. We have hungry people...the "greatest nation on earth" has hungry and homeless people!!
We have over 50% of our citizens who can't afford health insurance and health care.
Our health care industry is one of the most corrupt in a land where corruption thrives. The insurance industy is one of the most well represented by lobbying in America which is why they get away with the shameful, obscene profits they've come to enjoy at our expense.
The hospital and health care industry itself has become corrupt also. And administration along with insurance requirements has taken nurses off the floor and locked them up in offices for hours on end filling out endless paperwork. This is not necessary, there is no good reason why this process hasn't been streamlined and made simpler to achieve.
America has the highest infant mortality rate in the world from birth to one year. Excuse me? There is no excuse for this and although a percentage of that comes down to vastly ignorant parents there is still major room for improvement.
And while McCain wants to freeze spending immediately on social programs at a time when our citizens need them the most Obama wants to share the wealth. Neither scenario do I find acceptable. Nobody who works hard for whatever income level they achieve should be asked to support fifth generation welfare cases who are just too lazy and uneducated to lift a finger for anything besides personal gratification.
There is a condition called Welfare Syndrome. It occurs in other areas besides the welfare system but what it comes down to is people who are given eventually start to feel entitled to what they're given and more. That's a dangerous way to think.
And lets not forget that contrary to popular opinion the majority of Americans on welfare are white.
American is the land of opportunity, anyone willing to work hard, find the right resources and assistance (meaning accountants, areas of education and such) and make sacrifices can make it in this country, still.
In this day and age for anyone to sit back on their lazy butt and say "give me" is just plain wrong.
I believe in taking care of the children, they didn't ask to be born and they deserve to be taken care of.
In American we have an unfortunate mind set that we must keep families together. That's really too bad as some of these parents aren't qualified to raise children in any way. The kindest thing we could have done for many of these children and our own future is take them from their families the sooner the better and make sure they are well fed, educated and have good examples set for them.
The fact is children learn way more from watching what their parent figures do than from anything we tell them.
Anyway back to where I started. I hope all Americans old enough to vote do so but I hope they make their choices carefully. My own opinion is that anyone who voted for that bailout and passed it even though several billion more was added in pork spending should be voted out of office. The fact is they are supposed to represent the majority opinion of the voters and the majority of voters were dead against bailing out extreme greed.
And nothing has changed either, the extreme greed is still occuring on Wall St., it is business as usual especially now that they've realized our government is going to pump money into their endeavors whenever that greed comes back and bites them in the butt.
Remember, this is at our expense. If that 700 billion dollars had been distribued to the American citizens instead then mortgages could have been paid off, loans and credit card debt. could have been paid off and healthy amounts could have been deposited into both savings and investments. That would have been a way fairer and more constructive way to fix the mess on Wall St. and with the banks.
Instead our money has been taken and given to the already wealthy to preserve their life style.
I know this isn't a perfect scenario either but if they're going to take and spend over 700 billion then it should have directly benefitted the American people.
So vote America please and think also. We don't do a whole lot of thinking anymore in this country, that's part of the problem but then with the worst public education system in the free world who is being taught to think anymore?

cats like to sleep after staying away many days.
but the just let you think they have worked themselves to death.
mostly they sleep at another place.
only sometimes they are realy locked in a basement or cavern.
then they are worn out and realy tired like a dog.
ok, tired like a log.
but this is always better than to stay away forever.
