Life And Other Things

just tryin' to get by

Country Song

Here it is Jackie, now tell me this isn't country LOL!!!! :yikes:

You tell me all the time just what to do
You treat me like I’m nothing but a fool
I never say a thing worth listening to
I think it’s time I tried out something new

You think you’ve got me underneath your thumb
You think you’ll snap your fingers and I’ll come
When you want something I’m supposed to run
But I’ve got news for you my friend I’m done

Chorus
And you can kiss my butt as it’s heading out the door
Because I’ve learned to walk and I won’t be here no more
Yes there’s a new life waiting for me to jump on board
Hear my heart cuz it’s singing, hallelujah, thank you Lord

I can’t believe I let you make me cry
I thought that if you left me I might die
Now I’m seein’ thru a different pair of eyes
I’m waving cuz I’m telling you good bye

(extra verse if needed)

I’m gonna fly when I leave here this I know
And I’ll decide which way I want to go
Cuz I’m sure sick of listening to you
I think it’s time I tried out something new

(alternate Chorus or ending)

Well now my heart’s on fire cuz I know there’s so much more
And I know you’re gonna cry when I leave you all alone
You should have treated me better when you had my love before
Now you can kiss my butt because I won’t be yours no more.

Why would that be country! Jo Dee Messina!

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 00:32:56

avatar
She's from MA, not far from where I grew up LOL!

By minette061554, # 1. July 2008, 01:05:59

avatar
I will think about a title for your country song! Saw Jo Dee perform at strawberry fest in 2007. What a great performance!!!

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 01:32:42

avatar
Here`r a title: Kiss my butt there`s the door ! LOL Just a minor change for the hook to work.

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 03:52:10

avatar
You can name it LOL!!! Jo Dee has a very powerful voice! I love her.

By minette061554, # 1. July 2008, 17:22:45

avatar
Yes she does. I enjoy her music.

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 17:39:05

avatar
I like most music anyway...opera doesn't do much for me unless it's live then the voices take me over...speaking of powerful! I've only seen one live performance and it wasn't an actual opera, it was a few selections for entertainment at a convention and I was blown away. I don't own any though, well, that's not true, I have a Pavoritti Christmas cd.

By minette061554, # 1. July 2008, 17:44:10

avatar
Opera live is much more enjoyable. I did the lighting for the Treasure Coast Opera Society. I worked with some of finest performers and conductors in the biz! Getting the idea how I got the name Jaxs! lol

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 22:28:57

avatar
Jaxs....ok LOL.
Not opera but I went to school with Peter Fiedler, Arthur Fiedler's son, Arthur was the founder and long time conductor of the Boston Pop's Orchestra.
Peter was a gifted pianist but wouldn't consider a career in that, his dad was pretty old when his kids were born, his wife was substantially younger although she didn't live all that much longer...
He wasn't that close to his dad but knew that unless he was the best pianist in the world....nothing else would do.
Then he wanted to be a doctor and then a television producer, he ended up producing a medical show in Boston for a while. Then in 2004 he took over as an interim general manager of a Boston tv channel...
I don't know what he's up to these days. I guess I could google him...or even email him LOL... but I never do.
I went to school for only one year with Katie Taylor too, James's sister, she is really good, she's on myspace if you want to hear some of her music.
I went to school with a lot of successful people...I'm not one of those LOL but I'm happy so that's all that matters.

By minette061554, # 1. July 2008, 22:53:02

avatar
LOL! A friend of mine gave me that name many years ago. Instead of jack of all trades she shortened it to Jaxs. I have been blessed to have spent time with a lot of beautiful talented people. Feb. 2006 Peter was here in Vero Playing piano with the Boston Pops. They did the music of Gershwin. The Boston Pops will be back in Feb. 2009 but I don`t know if Peter will be here. Small world it is.

By eagle4eyes, # 1. July 2008, 23:36:42

avatar
WOW, Peter playing with the Boston Pops!!! And I NEVER thought that would happen.
I haven't seen him in....hmmmm.....38 years LOL. But I heard him on a radio interview a couple of times and one was on WBCN and during the interview I called in and left a message for him saying hey, glad to hear you're still kickin'....or something like that, hell, that was 30 years ago anyway
Does he still have dark, straight, silky hair?
WOW, you ain't kidding it's a small world! God I'd love to see him again sometime.
Having lost 3 friends from my own age group recently, 6/7, 6/12 and yesterday....I am in the mood for reconnecting, not for good, just to say hey.
I'm going to have to blog about that soon...not Peter but my recent losses.
One of them was an ex-boyfriend, he moved into this house with me in July 2005, it only lasted 9 months (no surprise there...LOL)but as much as we couldn't make a relationship we were the best of friends, I saw him that morning and spoke with him twice on the phone that afternoon. Then that night he fell asleep and the coronor thinks he died almost immediately...he never woke up. I couldn't ask for a better way for someone I love to die...even if he was 5 months younger than I am.

By minette061554, # 2. July 2008, 02:19:04

avatar
Yes Peter still has black silky hair. He looked great! I heard his family came down with him, from one of clients. I think she said his wife and two daughters. She is planning on going and wants me to take her. Hey if she wants to buy the $1000 ticket which gets you in the first 6 rows and the catered meet and greet I`m game! My heart goes out to you. I wrote a song expressing the loss of one of my friends. If you would like I will post it.

By eagle4eyes, # 2. July 2008, 02:58:00

avatar
I would love you to post it!!!
Ah, he still has the hair LOL. I'm glad to hear that  I hope he does have a wife and 2 daughters, if he does those girls have him wrapped I just know it LOL.
Ok, I guess I'm not surprised that he's playing with the Pops, it was when his dad was alive that he wouldn't even consider it and I understand why he felt that way too.
Still, his father is probably nicer on the other side and is proud..I hope :right:
I've had friends like that...take me somewhere really good, I'm always good to go too LOL.

By minette061554, # 2. July 2008, 03:21:14

avatar
From what I hear those girls have him wrapped. Im sure his dad is in a nicer place. I did go to Boston on the 4th to hear The Pops perform. Shortly after Arthur gave it up and John Williams became conductor. I have really nice clients that are good to me.

By eagle4eyes, # 2. July 2008, 03:46:54

avatar
I guess so LOL!!! But that goes both ways too
John Williams was good I thought, with The Pops.
I've lived here my whole life (except for the 9 years in Tampa) and never been to the Esplanade to see the Pops on the 4th of July LOL.
Too crowded, I did Watkins Glen in the 70's, glad I did, wouldn't do it again.
The 4th of July is great in my little part of NH  This year my friend is getting married, this Friday...at Mt. Sunapee which will be really nice and there will be fireworks. Even nicer since I don't have to clean up after it...I worked there this winter, nights, cleaning after skiers UGH!!
There are fireworks all over the lake and in the surrounding towns and they do them on different days so people can go to several shows.

By minette061554, # 2. July 2008, 14:42:30

avatar
I usually stay at home and have my own fireworks. It beats not having to fight the crowds!

By eagle4eyes, # 2. July 2008, 15:39:32

avatar
When we had the lake house we'd sit on the porch and not only were the fireworks over the lake wonderful but the hundreds of boats that would come out for them too. The Saturday before the 4th up here is Flare Night, it's to raise money for some charity, everybody around the lake lights their flares off at the same time and it's just beautiful. Sometimes it falls right before the 4th so there are fireworks also.
It's a wonderful thing to see.
There aren't a whole lot of those types of crowds where I live LOL.

By minette061554, # 2. July 2008, 18:09:49

avatar
Yes I remember. That is what made my stay in NH an enjoyable one.

By eagle4eyes, # 2. July 2008, 19:38:59

avatar
So no matter where I go within, say, 30 miles of where I live there isn't going to be much of a crowd.
We had that Obama/Clinton rally in Unity last week, that was a crowd but nothing compared to what it would have been in a more populated area.
My friend covered that event for her newspaper, it was hot, muggy...I stayed home even though her husband tried to get me to go with him. He called it "the Woodstock of politics" and I said...yup, I'll pass LOL.

By minette061554, # 2. July 2008, 20:14:10

avatar
I`ll pass on that too.

By eagle4eyes, # 2. July 2008, 21:16:59

avatar
I LIKE air conditioning....
I love fresh air but there isn't anything fresh about the high 80's and humid.
Well, you know, it's worse there LOL.

By minette061554, # 3. July 2008, 06:19:25

avatar
wyatt earp is riding again.
realy strong tobac from the country side.

By ombolan, # 5. July 2008, 20:48:50

avatar
LOL. I do any type of music pretty much, rock & roll, blues, country, ballads....whatever the music people put my lyrics to. But that song wrote itself country and there isn't any arguing with it.

By minette061554, # 6. July 2008, 01:16:14

avatar
i know people they say,
a man who doesn't sing, dont trust.
me, i don't sing.
they have made an exception.
but i saw, the men there just start to sing,
because it's a nice feeling.
when you understand what they are singing about
you will make big eyes.
about the feet aches, the sun is hot etc.
or they insult you singing let you think they like you.
(i didn't tell them i understand)
they just sing what they feel or think in the moment.
because one don't understand the text
one think they sing very traditional songs.
only the music is traditional.

By ombolan, # 6. July 2008, 10:05:37

avatar
I wrote that for my ex-boyfriend. We were good friends after we were no longer a couple. He died on June 6th, I told you. I didn't want him as a boyfriend but I miss him something awful as a friend.
Singing is sometimes necessary even if the voice isn't true or strong.

By minette061554, # 7. July 2008, 13:42:18

avatar
hey, you are a dangerous woman.
everybody near you is dying.
maybe you love your people to much.
my mother nearly loved me to dead.
but it's forgiffen.

By ombolan, # 7. July 2008, 17:46:28

avatar
maybe LOL. I don't think so tho. Taz had terminal cancer and brain tumors, the ex boyfriend did too much drugs and beer, too often, for too long and Shari wiped out her Harely. I wasn't even in the same town! I swear!

By minette061554, # 7. July 2008, 18:57:10

avatar
what's goin' on in this world.
everybody is dying.
one doctor told me 2002 i have 2 years left.
hmm ... now it's 2008 and i'm still waiting.
i want to die, but not now.
i wise woman told me it will be 2008+43=2051 oh la la.
i was 49 i she talked about middle of my live, so 49+49=98.
1953+98=2051, yes, right.
oops, long time to go.
i'm so lazy, yes i am.

By ombolan, # 7. July 2008, 19:07:20

avatar
nutin' wrong with lazy

By minette061554, # 7. July 2008, 19:08:42

avatar
everything turns into wrotten.
i'm not sure
1st the brain and then the body
or 1st the body and then the brain.
it's not clear.
but since the brain is a piece of meat also
maybe only the body
and that makes one feel lazy.

By ombolan, # 7. July 2008, 19:12:18

avatar
I have lazy days...but not most of the time. and funny, now that you mention it, if I'm being lazy my brain moves slower too.

By minette061554, # 7. July 2008, 19:34:14

avatar
people make funny things
not to feel it
the most absurd are men about 70/75 in cabriolets
for the women dressed up like 16 but for a multiple of thousend dollars
i close one eye.
for me it's like somebody doing striptease
having both legs cut accidently.
it's so strange that you throw an eye on it for a second.
but then you turn and go thinking: ok, why not.

By ombolan, # 7. July 2008, 19:44:09

avatar
I don't know. I see some people and just wish they wouldn't...
but then whatever makes them happy is ok I guess. sometimes they might choose to not share what makes them happy with the public though.
still, I guess we all have to do what we feel right doing.

By minette061554, # 8. July 2008, 04:25:18

avatar
yeah yeah, but they make me think about myself.
am i an idiot like this?
i think this people missed something in their youth
and try to catch up wild life with stiff knees.

my hands get more crippled every day but I can still do what I need to do. I suppose I might have to break down and have the surgery. but not until I absolutely have to.
but that's just physical LOL, in my head and heart I am forever young with the wisdom of a woman who is upper middle aged.

By minette061554, # 8. July 2008, 17:54:59

avatar
ah, you are alright.
i shake my head about people who believe
us or europe is the paradise.
on the other side they talk bad about us,
maybe less about europe.
it's easier to enter here.

By ombolan, # 8. July 2008, 19:13:39

avatar
I don't believe there is a paradise, humans have a way of ruining perfection LOL. but there are some places in the US that are very nice and others where I wouldn't want to live. I'm sure that's the way it is in most nations.

By minette061554, # 8. July 2008, 19:43:27

avatar
yes, the whole world.
i fear the people with own brain will die out.

By ombolan, # 8. July 2008, 20:19:05

avatar
a vanishing breed here in America for sure. I'm lucky, I tend to find the people with brains and make friends of them. no matter where they are

By minette061554, # 8. July 2008, 20:22:43

avatar
north america is easier to control.
middle america is slim.
europe is open to asia.
if the people start to move - motivated by wrong informations
it will be a desaster.

By ombolan, # 8. July 2008, 20:33:22

avatar
but they aren't controlling North America, they're paying lip service is all but our borders are wide open.
well, I can't fix it so I leave it alone most of the time. if I think on it too much I get paranoid...

By minette061554, # 9. July 2008, 03:37:30

avatar
yes, i try to live together with the new europeans.
paranoia is not good for me.
i went to africa and asked for help.
they acclaimed my demand.

By ombolan, # 9. July 2008, 07:24:27

avatar
I've been to Europe but not since I was 16. I've never been to Africa...I am sadly ignorant of most of that country.
paranoia is not good for anybody...but this is a scary world these days.

By minette061554, # 9. July 2008, 14:48:18

avatar
the majority of the world is ignorant of africa
because the circumstances there are heavy
and the sun is burning down like a champ.
a lot of people still believe
black women dance in skirts made of bananas
and the people there like cooked missionaries.
that's paranoia at it best

By ombolan, # 9. July 2008, 17:55:40

avatar
What I learned of Africa in school (in the dark ages) doesn't apply anymore because everything has changed, some for the better, some for the worse.
There must not be much for the US in Africa or we would be taking a more active interest there.

By minette061554, # 9. July 2008, 19:37:23

there is a lot, petrol, uran and other things.
ivory coast produces e.g. 45% of the world cacao production.
but to work there is not so easy.
the fear of malaria, cholera, yellow fiever etc.
"shell" is there, the chinese are there (a lot), libanese, indians.
there's not much space left for us.
they started to late to put their foot in the door.
first they have to learn how to speak with a black man.
respect.
it's tactical not so cute to call a man a nigger
if you want him to give you a good price for something he owns.
and they feel if you think it, even if you keep your mouth shut.
they look back on many centuries of slavery.
it's not forgotten, the fathers tell it to the sons and daughters.
the chinese invest a lot of money there, building railways, stadiums,
hospitals, schools, streets, vehicles for public traffic,
vehicles for police/militair a.s.o.
little industries, farms.
and the africans pay with resources.
even taiwan and china work there together.
asia and africa is more on the same mental level like with europe or us.

By ombolan, # 9. July 2008, 19:53:46

avatar
I think because the Eastern cultures understand "face" or respect more than we Westerners do. We are arrogant, ignorant and entitled all too often. We equate money with power and so we act like that will work everywhere and it doesn't, thank God!!!

By minette061554, # 13. July 2008, 00:42:40

avatar
this is right.
but what can we do?
it's our nature.
me, i went to africa to learn something.
and they say i have learned my lesson quiet well,
which means i'm welcome, even i'm a white ass.
i have to be prepaired for the future.
there will be a massive change in populations.
just singing a national hymn will not work.
i want to survive on this world.
i respect the territories, the government's bussiness.
us will have maybe a grand-child of africa as president.
maybe usa is redefined to united states of africa.

By ombolan, # 13. July 2008, 09:47:11

but Obama is not known. we really don't know what he stands for we only know what he says he stands for. it's been my experience that all politicians say one thing and do another. plus he is wanting (but so is McCain) to accept all the illegal aliens as citizens and as much as I'd like to do that finanacially it will ruin us.
they don't care if they ruin the average American, they are wealthy to the point where none of their decisions will affect their standard of living.
but my standard of living has dropped significantly under Bush and assimilating the illegals will finish it off.
so I am scared and worried. I don't know who I'll vote for, not happy with either candidate.
and shame on the Republicans for giving us McCain, he isn't a strong candidate and has waffled too many times regarding his stance on issues.
I don't care for that either.
what to do????

By minette061554, # 13. July 2008, 14:54:25

avatar
the problem is the oil.
if somebody ends war, it's obama.
but maybe this is not a good decission, even more populist.
mcCain is weak? (i know french fries with this name)
so don't vote for him.
obama will find a decission for energy war (exporting democracy ...)
he will clearly say no or yes.
if a new president is elected, he can not change everything.
it's more important how he manages the mess he'll find.
maybe he has more credit in the "3rd" world.
everybody is tired of white hardliners.
