Escanda Team, Asturias

Asturias was the destination. I flew from Barcelona to Oviedo full of expectations. People kept telling me about Asturias, beautiful nature, great people, delicious food etc. but I had my own expectations about Asturias, expectations which soon would be achieved, what more exceeded.
Traveling from London to Prague, then to Barcelona, after it to Oviedo and suddenly I found myself in Quinzanas, profound Asturias. From big city life to the place with no internet, no mobile phone, peace of mind. "La vida del campo".
I will never forget the impression I had once we arrived to rural house in lower Quinzanas. The sun was shining, it was hot spanish afternoon. Fernando said here we are. Seňor extremador was sitting by the table, smoking. While eating lovely lunch I tryed my best to understand the conversation between sr. Amador and Fernandos. Mission impossible. Escanda harvesting team was complete and we could move on up towards next chapter.
Next task for Escanda team was fixing broken combine. The task for Czech guy (me) apart from documenting everything with my camera was to lear the names of all the tools (in spanish).
Fernando´s expression is saying - misson complete. Combine was working again.
It was summer afternoon, lands of escanda were waiting to be harvested. The air smelled with fresh mint, I was in profound Asturias, profound Spain. I was in right place to be and everything seemed to be perfect.
And this is him. My friend Fernando Farpon in his natural environment. Under the short Asturian sky, under the moon and the stars hidden by the clouds of the night. Under the unique piece of Asturian architecture - horreo.
New day - new task. We had to move the combines through the jungle to get the access to more escanda lands. Escanda Ferrari destroyer team was on the road, tractor first, unbeatable Lada Niva next and finally two enormous combines were beating it´s way through the jungle to finally reach the destination.
We made it and combines were free to harvest the last and the most beautiful lands. Escanda lands which spreads around junction of the rivers Nalón and Narcea.
The harvesting part was done but there was still much work left. Next task was to maintain the escanda lands and make them ready for next season. Tractors cranked up and moved to chop the lands.
One part of escanda harvesting team was dedicated to do the maintainance of the combines and escanda engineers team namely me and Fernando we had to do the cleaning part which after while made us tired.
It´s important to have a rest.
Fernando Farpón to Fernando Farpón - "Fernando, I know you, I´m your dad".
Job done! Escanda Harvesting team 2011, Quinzanas, Pravia, Asturias, Spain.
Hey Asturiano, dress up! Me and Fernando selling Escanda products on traditional market in Gijón. It was not only about selling the escanda produts but also about expanding our mission, making people happy and of course about having fun.
Escanda engineers team on show time mission, having good times near Cabo de Peňas.
The summer was almost over and for me was time to hit the road again. But I could not leave without farewell with ecanda family and without tasting famous "Cordero a la estaca".
What really matter is just being a good person, and also to eat Escanda!
I can´t explain it any other way so I have to use the words of LoopTroop Rockers.
"I guess it must have been magic"
