Shane's Babblings

discoverable? or retainable?

Terrible Two's

We kinda got side swiped by the 'terrible twos' this last say 15 days. I guess buying a home and having my wife's parents in town for a week didn't help either. Our little monster, Dennis (favorably named after a rock-star) has been on a tirade the last few weeks. My wife is getting to her wits end and I know it is driving her nuts because she has done rather well with all the various things that have been thrown her way as a mother. The interesting thing lately is that either, Dennis has us wrapped around his little finger and is immensely intelligent, or all the various changes we have made right near some of his major milestones are just driving him nutty. We had started down the path of potty training and backed off that as soon as we discovered that we were going to purchase this new home.

I don't honestly know if we really know what we are doing as parents, and Dennis is definitely our petri dish experimental child. Maybe it is just the really long and difficult winter that we have truly had here in Cache Valley.

Well we had an old-fashioned house warming and surprisingly it was rather well attended. I was grateful because my wife put so much effort into her 'I love to entertain' self and we had a lot of people show up. Our common friends and a few of each of our work colleagues and friends made an appearance. It seems that most 'gawked' at our yard and thought we did quite well for our first home purchase. I still don't feel like it is anything too special, it just fits our needs now and gives us a bit to grow. I installed our new dishwasher yesterday. Despite the long time it took, it was rather straightforward and the discoveries from the previous owners was minimal. Anyway, now it's just time to wait and see if the IRS comes through on the refund checks or not. We filed our taxes previously and it was a very good thing.

On to the next set of adventures. Wish us luck with Dennis, cheers.
